Has anyone else been dealing with a chronic health problem lately?

On May 30, I got a migraine and was dizzy for all of June. I could function at about 30%.

I felt normal for a few days at the end of June then my symptoms morphed in July and I've felt lightheaded every day. I can still drive but I'm functioning at maybe 50%.

A nurse practitioner diagnosed me as having a vestibular migraine. It usually hits when people are in their 40's. (I'm 43)

It's not painful but I'm still basically a partial invalid.

I'm a bachelor.

I feel grateful that I don't have a real job or family to support because I'd really be screwed.

I created a Daily Treatment Plan with the help of my doctors and Chat GPT and am hoping to be close to normal in September because these treatments take 3 months to work.

CSB.

Anyone else having a doozy of a year?

There's some folks who have it much worse ... they're having to drive something other than a Maserati because they're a Poor.

40 sucks? What planet are you on huey . Get off your *** and walk 20k steps. Turn phone off. The very last thing you need is medication. You are a weak liberal , get up and get moving.

How old are you, chiller?

I've had two rotator cuff surgeries and I'm still not 100% from the one I had a year ago but that's not as bad as functioning at 50%. Man, that's got to be depressing and I'm sending good thoughts your way.

I've had both cervical and lumbar fusion surgery as well as having a total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. You would trade your headaches over constant discomfort 365 days a year.

Sorry.

You're retired and worth millions of dollars like most of HROT, I assume?

I have enough savings for 4 years before I run out.

Realistically, I could probably stretch it to 7 years with part time work.

Thanks, brah.

Luckily, I'm not in any pain or else I'd probably be a morphine addict at this point.

Thanks.

I was reading about saints that suffered...this poor girl was bedridden for 38 years before she died!

Lawd, I hope it doesn't get that bad.

Yep...she was a teenager when she got sick, too.

I had good health until last year and was able to travel the world, at least.

Well, I'm 52 and can relate to a few health curveballs. I'm a disabled vet with fibromyalgia, arthritis in both feet and a few other fun issues I deal with, There have certainly been days this year where I felt like my body was working against me.

I tried a couple of SSRIs years ago, but they just made me feel numb, so they weren't for me. What has helped me most is staying busy, getting outside when I can, spending time in scripture, TRAVEL and refusing to let my circumstances define me.

Sounds like you've got a plan, Brian, and and you're working it. ...that's about all you can do right now. Hopefully September brings the improvement you're looking for.

Bummer.

It sounds like you haven't had a COVID booster lately. I hear there's a new disease they're calling COVID vaccine insufficiency. Alternatively, maybe you had too many mRNA vaccines.

Kidding aside, I hope you shed this ailment. In the meantime, I'd be curious to know what vestibular exercises you are doing.

I've been having more problems with balance and dizziness as I age. One exercise (if you can call it that) I've started doing lately is to stand on one foot while brushing my teeth in the morning. Can't tell if it helps but can't hurt.
