what the hell are you talking about? What does Christianity have to do with him being completely full of ****? He clearly didn't read the book, but tried, horribly, after bringing the book out as a prop, to pretend he did. He's dumb, and phony. That doesn't make him a bad person, it just makes him dumb and phony.

I agree with the philosophy that every person should be able to support themselves. The great society destroyed the black family, thank the dems. Lebron doesn't know what he is agreeing with, he just knows that he's supposed to hold that book and act like he cares. I feel sorry for him.
I understand he had the book but...

Imagine he was actually reading the book...
1. Do you hide the book so people don't ask you questions about it, then ask you about hiding the book?
2. Do you hold the book and then answer with broad terms something which is widely known concerning Malcolm X

The hate for this guy is really disturbing and says much more about the haters than it does about Lebron. It is really odd that the criticism for him with really no provocation is that he is racist...people are pulling up quotes from 30 years ago...it is almost as if it is projection, like he rubs a nerve in racist people and they have to respond with hate to anything he does. He is a wildly successful black man who came from poverty, became a billionaire, while being a supportive husband and parent, and philanthropist. Maybe this makes "certain" people uncomfortable.

He is too greedy, turns down 40-60 million to play for Phily
He is communist, runs and promotes a successful voting drive in 2020, and becomes a billionaire by successfully investing time and time again
He is selfish, seamlessly becomes the 3rd option behind Austin Reaves!

What do you value?

The "hate" is really disturbing? What hate? People don't like him, or say he's a racist, is hate? People pointed out what are clearly racist comments that are attributed to him. Making racist comments is an indicator that he may be a racist. That's what the op was about. You can explain it and minimize it as much as you want, but there is something there. If he was indeed reading Malcom X, well, Malcom X pushed segregation, the complete separation of blacks from whites. That sounds a little racisty too. Then there's the "you're next" tweet at a white cop in Akron that stopped a young black woman from killing another your black woman, and this:

He's got millions of followers, and to go out and say this stupid nonsensical crap, suggesting that cops just got it out for black people and are just going out an gunning them down just because, is pretty close to unforgivable. Comments like these, from a guy like this, is really terrible for this country. And, no, he isn't afraid of cops. Any cop on the planet would ask for his autograph if he pulled him over.

Is he racist? I don't know, but it is definitely possible, based on his past. If he is racist, is that enough for people to not like him? Even if he is all of those things you claim above. And on those things you "check," how do you know what kind of man he is when off camera? It is great that he gives back to his community, he should. He is a generational talent, who works hard to be great. Maybe people don't like him because he is dumb and phony? Is that enough? What about his World Cupesque flopping he does when playing basketball? Is that enough for people not to like him?

Calling somebody racist is about as hateful as you can get with a keyboard. Most people would lose their jobs if such an accusation could be proven without a doubt. Racism and tribalism are responsible for most of the worst violence over the last 200 years, and has directly lead to the murder of millions of people.

I don't "agree" with the idea that the black community should segregate. But you can't view segregation from a white lens. Segregation from a white perspective, especially 65 years ago was 80% of the population wanting to forcibly segregate 10% of the population. This segregation lead to mass incarceration, violence, poverty...basically a form of ghettoization that you would see in 1940s Poland after the Nazi invasion.

Black chosen segregation means building your community to be so strong that it can be relied upon when the former slavers are going through one of their cycles of discrimination and abuse...rely on the black community instead of the government which is run by the former slavers or competitive immigrant groups who have no love for you. Build a self-sufficient community with a wealth and power base, then assimilate using that wealth and power base.

Conservatives constantly complain about black on black crime and an over-reliance on welfare. Both of these situations are arranged purposefully or not by the white power base, Malcolm X obviously saw this phenomenon 60+ years ago, diagnosed the problems with being over-reliant on welfare and the white power base to decide the outcomes of your housing, job access, education opportunities. From this lens having self-sufficient communities would be healthier.

Arranged by liberals. Conservatives warned of what would happen, and have been vilified since. But what you said has zero to do with race. Families are self sufficient, or they are not. Communities, and to an extent, individuals, are not really relevant.

As a lifelong Laker fan Lebron is not even in my top 10 of all time great Lakers. West, Chamberlain, Kobe, Shaq, Baylor, Mikan, Magic, Worthy, Jabbar, and Luka are or should be ahead of Lebron. Why? First off, the a-hole would never have dreamed of taking the kind of discount he took with Philly for LA to be able to bring in more talent. That one fact wipes him off my list.

So what happens to a family if the male is taken to a prison camp for forced labor, or killed in war, on the job, or runs away with a younger woman? The community keeps the mom and children going when the men are gone, and the children become the future. If you don't have a solid core community then families dissolve as men in the past were exposed to many dangers, mass incarceration, indentured servitude just being a couple.

Ehhhh, sometimes neither do I...sometimes I also want nothing to do with women...doesn't mean I hate women.

This Xs a thousand! I've said the exact same thing about black people and I'm as black as they come. Also said what you did about women...and I love them.

But the president said it so it must be true lol.

Twice Lebron asked the Lakers to put together a plan to bring in talent and he would take a pay cut. Last year...they didn't have a center, and their "plan" was to bring in De'andre Ayton. This year their "plan" was to bring in WALKER KESSLER, a guy who averaged 12 ppg and is coming off of a season ending injury. They decided to pay this guy 32 million a year and give up 2 FIRST ROUND draft picks. They decided to keep Austin Reaves who had max trade value despite having the same skill set at Luka, and being worse defensively.

Ayton averaged the same amount of points and more rebounds than Kessler for only 8 million a year. Lakers have been terrible since Jeanie took over, with one bad decision after another...they fell into Lebron, Luka, and AD and their one chip, but their organization building is some of the worst in the NBA. I get that Lakers fans don't want to hate on the Buss family and would rather blame their superstars...Luka will be next...but Lakers won't win anything until the Buss family is out of the picture.

Ok, so things he's said make it sound like he's a racist. It's all in this thread. Again, apologize for it as much as you want, but objectively, people could have the opinion that he's racist. Conservatives complain about it? Why don't Dems? Do they care? Black on black crime and reliance on welfare is arranged by the white power base? If by "white power base," you mean progressives / dems, you are 100% correct. They need there to be racial conflict, they need minorities to be reliant upon government, so that they will vote for them. The more self reliant a person / community is, the less they need handouts. The left's constant identity politics and promise to give more free stuff is the only thing it has; the left can't survive without it.

Your blaming the white power base is really shallow. That's not to say that Dems wont always want everyone to hate each other and to have as many as possible be reliant upon handouts, but, crime rate goes down dramatically, and reliance on welfare goes down dramatically, when there is a two-parent household. It is that simple. The more the single-parent households you have, the greater the instability.

Still waiting ... in what context would what he said be acceptable.
Guess what? He didn't say it. What he did say was how he felt when he was 14 and experiencing culture shock from going from an all-black environment to an all-white environment. That has been taken out of context by people who either can't read or who want to take what he did say out of context to advance their agenda. I have no idea if he's a racist. But people shouldn't judge him now based on how he felt at age 14 under those circumstances and they shouldn't misquote him.

When I was 14 I would call certain dinners, that I hated, that my Mom made for us "gay"...

Since then I have messed around with dudes and I am 100% not gay.

Sometimes people say stuff and they don't really mean exactly what they say.

Got it, he just thought it a long time ago ... but then made it a point to tell everyone much later on. That sounds racisty.

So conservatives have no part to play in any social justice issues over the last 120 years? That makes you sound really suspect and your opinion skewed and untrustworthy.. I can admit that liberal ideology is naïve, oversimplified, and appeals to some unsavory human traits and political motives. Dems and Reps are responsible for the political mess our country has faced since its inception...if you think that one of the groups is "right" you are truly lost and disillusioned.

Don't take my word for it. Google gemini:

The Great Society programs were started by Democrats, led by President Lyndon B. Johnson, backed by a large Democratic majority in Congress.

Political Roles and Support:

Democrats: Proposed and championed the legislation, using their control of the White House and Congress in 1964 and 1965 to pass laws like Medicare and Medicaid.
Republicans: Mostly opposed the new programs, arguing that they gave too much power to the federal government and created unwanted welfare dependence.

In 1960, 75–80% of Black children lived with married parents, today about 35% do.

Dems got the black community hooked on handouts, which also worked to undercut the need for the man to be present in any way in the home. The less a dad is present, more likely that kid is going to struggle. Welfare handouts is now Dems calling card, and they couldn't give two ***** about black on black violence. Republicans are the party of mom and dad, less social welfare, and stronger police presence in the poor communities. But not even the strongest supporters of reduction in welfare will talk too much about it, because the second they do, they'll be branded "racist" by the Dems. They can't even get a common-sense bill requiring low threshold work requirements through without catching hell for it. Also, don't need to remind you their love for open borders, allowing millions upon millions of people into the country who will immediately be put onto welfare, thereby taking from those who most need it in larger proportion (minorities).

Black on black crime, and dependence on welfare, goes down dramatically if 1) mom and dad stay together and raise the kid together and 2) less importantly, the Dems start giving a damn. Also, this is where lebron likes to be especially dumb and try to get his millions of followers to believe that cops are terrible and will go hunt down guys like lebron, all the while how many blacks are killing other blacks every month in Chicago? Better keep the cops out of those neighborhoods, for fear of those terrible police men and women, amiright? He's a genius.

I 100% agree...he seems like a pretty good guy.
I went to a wedding a few years back at the church attached to the high school he attended. I was standing in the parking lot talking to the priest before the ceremony and asked him about Lebron. At the time, workers were putting a new roof on the school. He points to them, smiles and says "Lebron." Then he pointed out the newly resufaced parking lot and says again "Lebron." I'm not a fan of Lebron but it seems like he has done a lot of good community-type things.

Ya but this stuff is also a tax write off for the wealthy. 🤷
