A Mobile QB is a requirement.

And then it’s Linemen!

Defense…it’s Linemen!

No other team can be Physically Stronger!

Real Player Development has to be Obvious!

The Coaching Carousel has to Stop!

IMO
It’s nice to want things

IF you can have a legit right Ning attack it opens up options. I’m hoping Colandrea’s run threat helps that.
I want I-Backs like Rozier, Phillips, Green and Alexander who intimidate defenses. They are not easy to get but if a coaching staff commits to, maybe they start coming back to DONU. In that group of four, there is a Heisman winner, a first round pick and a time great NFL back.

Some interesting stats for Anthony Colandrea. He played at Virginia before transferring to UNLV.

2024 Virginia 5 - 7
  • He passed for 2,125 yards with 13 TDs and 11 INTs
  • He was sacked 39 times.
  • He rushed for 277 yards.
  • He was responsible for nearly 30% of the team's rushing attempts.
  • In a 5 game stretch (Clemson, UNC, Pitt, Notre Dame and SMU) he was sacked 28 times.
  • He wasn't sacked v. Notre Dame.
2025 UNLV 10 - 4
  • He passed for 3,459 yards with 23 TDs and 9 INTs
  • He only had two games with more than 300 yards.
  • He was sacked 26 times.
  • He rushed for 649 yards.
  • He was responsible for nearly 25.6% of the team's rushing attempts.

Is 26 sacks a lot?

I see him going over 650 this season

You all can be sarcastically hostile with the OP all you want. But, this is the recipe we've been looking for since Osborne. Only two coach we've had since have taken this seriously. Solich tried, but he sucked at recruiting. Pelini did as well, but he got to the point that he hated Nebraska as much as the fans hated him.

Dan Alexander was a beast but he fell down and fumbled a lot. We’ve had a lot of backs who were better than Dan. Buckhalter, Helu I would put over Dan.

9 offensive starters on our last national title team were from the state of Nebraska. This was a team that only won because of an explosive offense. The 90s also saw Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado have some of their best seasons. So there was a regional and cultural dominance. The only way forward for Nebraska is to build an all-star team out of the best players from north of us and west to Utah. This will be big white guys, huge offensive line, big physical qb, save NIL and put it all into a few skill positions...a DT, a DL, a CB, a RB, a WR...spend it all on 5 big name guys and build the rest of the roster out of cheap regional kids, preferably from the dakotas. Most of the time we will look a lot like Iowa...and at times under Osborne it kind of felt that way. Especially during bowl season.

I forgot about Roy Helu. He was great!
Hell Pork Chop was a really good back. Loved that guys burst, lateral quickness and low center of gravity. He wasn’t going to win many 40 yard dashes but he could disappear behind the O line and suddenly cut in to a crease for 5-10.

I agree. Alexander would trip over his own shoelaces and had stone hands. He was a fumble machine. We have had many, many running backs better than he was. Derek Brown. Calvin Jones. Helu. Burkhead. Abdullah. Benning. Ken Clark. EJ from last year. Redwine. Keith Jones. The list could go on and on. Dan Alexander would rate around the 25th best NU running back over the past 50 years.

How ya doin? I’m recovering from a knee replacement. Just got up to pee and take some more hydrocodone. Made the mistake of quitting it too early and yesterday afternoon the pain became unbearable.

Most of my patients would state that during the first 4 weeks after a TKA that they made a horrible mistake.

Then after 4wks they would often remark that they should have made the decision for a TKA long ago--that their quality of life improved immensely.

I had a Birmingham resurfacing arthroplasty on my hip on my 50th birthday. The first 7-10 days were excruciating. Way more soft tissue damage than a standard hip but I’m 18 years out on the same implant and still have my femoral neck if I need a revision. Wish I had done the hip 5 years earlier I’ve put off the knee for 6-7 years. The guy that did my left hip wanted to schedule my right hip back when we did the first one. Gotta love sports.
