The big thing in a lot of these duals will be Crooks health/pitch count. I see this dual being 6-4, 5-5, or 4-6. If it were a bit lopsided say 7-3 or 8-2 I would think it would be in our favor.

I think all of the 74 top ten are not separated by much lest of course MM jumps a weight for his final year. Its possible, has the mindset and talent, hoping Gabe can make a JWar type of run and wrestle Saturday night.

Maybe 184? Besides mcinelly, Sinclair and Welsh, there really shouldn't be any "maybes" for Ferrari this year. It's those 4 then everyone else imo.
On paper it looks like a 5-5 dual with Nebraska likely more heavily favored in their 5 than we are in ours. But that's why they wrestle on a mat vs on paper!

The plan is to RS next year and go 165 the following year (he's already quite a bit heavier than he was). UNC wasn't keen on him sitting idle for a year. He's definitely going to Nebraska.

He's known he was going to Nebraska for a while now (at least a month), not sure the reason for delaying the announcement. Also don't know what you gain by opting in the old rules and taking a RS vs going with the new 5 for 5 rules. You could essentially do the same thing with 5 for 5 if his objecting to take a healing year.

You don't actually have to opt in the university compliance would track eligibility.

He can compete in duals as well. He will get 2 more years . You don't actually have to declare a RS like before . Everyone will be available for all the duals

He's had a lot of head injuries and the way he wrestles makes him susceptible to them but I'm not really sure if that's totally the issue here. No way of knowing what he's thinking here but sounds like this reset year might be as much mental as it is health.

I know UNC didn't think an entire year off was a good idea.

Not ready to move that match into the tossup category. By that logic Crookham and Van Dee is a tossup.

Gabe is a menace to wrestle though. He's so compact and strong that he's very difficult to take down. Predict a Minto win in the 5-2 range. And I'd predict that outcome 9/10 times.

If Minto continues building on the trajectory he was on last year, 1 or 2 out of 10 would be impressive. He had multiple bonus point wins in the NCAA tourney.

Gabe will keep it close but not confident he can win v Minto.
