At least he changed a couple words in the thread title this time. About every 3 months, we get the same thread by the same guy.

Try something new. Bring humor, bring something.

Two bowl games back to back. Looking forward to seeing what this season brings.
He’s definitely provided a lift and and I’d like to see him able to finish his career in Lincoln. He came in with such a positive manner and was so strong, but last year was disappointing.

Rhule is the perfect Coach for Nebraska…off the field. And in my opinion he will be Boo’d in Lincoln by mid-season if we are losing and not playing well.

The years of frustration and last year’s play have caused the Fan Base to turn on him. This a real turning point year for him in Lincoln.

I don’t see a middle-of-the-road Fan Base any more. He has to earn their respect back. This is his team now. He owns it, gotta get it done, and beat Iowa.

Name checks out

Although its a bit early to be drinking, no?
Hopefully he’s right. There’s a lot of people on here rooting for his failure. While I question a lot of his moves, I wish him well this season. As TO said many many times, “winning is hard”. Rhule had a helluva hole to dig us out of and the B1G schedule is a ***** this year. There are zero guaranteed W’s in the B1G.

I’m rooting for Rhule because I want stability and want the Huskers to win. If we absolutely crap the bed, I don’t want to wait til 2028-2029 when Trae can show the goods.

I don’t agree that he’s the perfect coach for Nebraska. His affinity for JoPa is a turnoff for thousands of Husker fans. Obviously his failure in the NFL is a black mark as well as his ability to assemble a great staff early.

I like the less BS Coach I’ve seen over the summer. A positive has been his willingness to cut bait with guys including the Raiolas. He had almost no choice but to keep Donnie and take Dylan. Hindsight I think he would have been better off rolling with Kaelin and Haarberg that first year. I still believe our win totals would have been the same. Fan acceptance might have been better but then he would have gotten “he shoulda signed Raiola”.

The hype with Taylor is identical to what the hype was with Raiola.

If Taylor does do well, he will be in the portal after his first year.

Taylor is a much better prospect IMO. I watched Raiola in that All Star game after his senior year and my impression was meh. Didn’t look very accurate. Ran a few read options that were unimpressive. Threw several INTs. Kinda like what we got from him at NU.

Definitely not mobile.

And until Nebraska football figures out that winning in the B1G is about "line" play, both sides, no QB can be successful.

Rhule has given the program a lift the last 2 years by feeding on the low hanging fruit - wins against a pretty weak nonconference schedule and getting 3-4 wins against lower tier BG10 teams. Taking the next step is going to require a winning conference record which means winning at least one game we are not favored to win, something he has yet to do as Husker coach but has to be the expectation for a guy compensated in the top 15 in the country. I'm hoping he can build some real momentum on the field this year and then piggyback off that with the 2027 recruiting class - that will go along way in building excitement and uniting the fan base.

I'm not a recruiting expert but if I'm not mistaken Raiola was the #1 overall prospect his sophomore and junior years and then continued to slowly slide down the rankings. (Did he go from a 5-star to 4-star?). Trae is the opposite, he continues to climb the rankings the more camps and games he plays.

Raiola did not get his ranking because of his last name. But it helped, we all know that. Trae is the better prospect IMO

Tom IMO benefited from being able to beat up on mostly trash non-conference opponents and then the 5-6 dwarves in the Big Eight. Eventually OU hit the skids. CU was inconsistent with their coaching changes. We have to get back to beating the programs we should beat and then win 1 of those games against the 3 top 10 tesms we’re going to face. I don’t think we’re ready to do that but that should be Rhule’s unspoken goal.

I can feel the Big Red Koolaid glowing in to my veins. It could just be hydrocodone too. Had a “Jiffy” knee replacement Wednesday. 😁

Oh, how the might have fallen, when just getting to a bowl game two straight years amounts to "saving" the program. Participation awards for all!
The thread is a troll - and of course you fall right into it. Ur Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Don't get me wrong, you are a tool - just not the sharpest one Mr. Iowa.

Yea dip$&it we knew all this back in the Devaney Osborne era’s when we went 356-69-5 in 36 years and 5 National Championships.

So don’t waste your time telling us what we need to figure out.

Did Nebraska have that success AFTER entering the B1G???

Playing in Austin Texas in November is a tad bit different than playing in Ann Arbor, Michigan in November.

Stop being obtuse.

I know, I know...playing mighty Purdue, NW(one of the worst programs ever), Indiana (Literally the worst program ever), MSU, Minny, Wisconsin (one of the worst programs in history until the late 90s) made for such tough games all those years.

There were two/three good teams in the Big 12 each year...and there were two and sometimes three in the Big Ten. That is all.

Funny coming from the biggest nincompoop troll who knows absolutely nothing about college football history runs his mouth like diarrhea.

Nebraska has had the same success as the Clarkeyes since winning zero.

Sure...that's why Nebraska keeps cycling through HCs and hasn't won as many as 8 games since 2016?

Winning 9 games gets a coach fired, in Lincoln, and they haven't won more than 7 since.

That's one hell of a philosophy.

Winning 9 or 8 or 7...it is all the same. None of that matters if you want more.

You don't want more, you said you are "happy" with #7.44.

You guys could have had Cigs and a title!

Be honest, what would you rather have had the last two years...your current coach and those results or firing him and doing what Indiana did the last two years. Be honest.

WTF does Cignetti and Indiana have to do with the convo?

Iowa apparently likes consistency and only paying one HC at a time.

Most fans, member included are satisfied with 8/9 wins every season...or most seasons.
Throw in a 10/11 win season every so often.

Meanwhile, Nebraska settles for a 10AM bowl game and 5/6/7 wins.

Hell, Matty gets a contract extension for having his agent tell Dannen PSU is interested.
You can't make this shiit up.🤣🤣🤣

So you would rather have 8/9 wins instead of what Indiana just did?

Here is what it has to do with the conversation...you either want more or you don't. Indiana fans and AD wanted more. You seem happy with #7.44

We don't like Rhule and we hate the extension. We want him gone. That is difference, we want more. No one cares about the money, fans don't care about that stuff. That is for dudes that have never had sex and/or have only had sex with one person and then married that person.

You can't make this stuff up but then again, I don't have to make it up. iowa fans would rather stay exactly the same instead of making a change and trying for more.

Clarkeyes have 13 8 win seasons, only 8 nine win seasons, 8 10 win seasons and only two 11 win seasons and only one 12 win season which when they were boat raced again Stanford in the Rose bowl which was their last meaningful game they played.

It is just so weird that they are totally fine with being lame every single year and think they can't do better. Like, why are they not demanding more???

It’s a process. Baby steps up the ladder.
Show me a program that has taken Baby Steps to greatness. In my opinion it you need a breakout year or two.

That creates momentum , then kids want to come. Rhule had that chance when he came here, might not get that chance again, who knows. If he goes bust this year , his tenure is pretty much over (even if he isn't fired).

Very tough in the B1G. Need THE MAN at QB and we haven’t had him. Sadly most recently AM was probably the best we’ve had since Tommy Armstrong.

I'm at the stage where I'm expecting failure but hoping for success, as I'm sure most of this fanbase is. We've been able to close out more ugly games compared to the likes of Frost and Riley, but there is no excuse why we cannot beat ranked opponents. We had chances to throughout his tenure. With a better staff this season (minus Satterfield) our improvement should be visible, not subtle. If not, time to shop for a new coach or hire from within.

Satt is fine in his current role. Expecting wins over Oregon or OSU is unrealistic IMO. I’m not so sure though that Indiana will be the same without Mendoza.
