KC is an abomination. This reminds me exactly of a Seton Hall team. Cannot move the ball. Cannot set up the post. Dawes still such a frustrating chucker and horrible passer.
Terrible showing. But…I have to say…they very much resemble a Seton Hall team on the offensive side…. Which is not good.
Honestly…Gill looks like he’s definitely added girth…they didn’t seem to try even 1 pick and roll with him…and Dawes looks like he can barely hoist his shots from distance…. Going 0-fer from 3

At the beginning of the game, Seton Hall called a quick time out, after a few minutes ...Gill looked out of breath.
The game brought back a lot of memories...not good ones.

The announcers mentioned several times that when our perimeters players got into the paint they always looked to dump it off for Gil and that was never his strong suit. It failed time and time again.

I think Dawes was 0-10 from 3. 😬

A lot of sloppy play but that’s what everyone should have expected.

I really hope to see Whitehead in our next(last?) game. I’m sure he really hopes to be out there too.

Somehow I can't look away despite knowing it will be more of the same. I guess that's why I'm diehard, but it makes zero sense I am first to admit.
90% of the reason to watch didn’t bother suiting up (IW and Cale.). The only other player worth seeing is Gill and he looked like a rusty big man as expected. Safe to say this is a one and done experience for Hall In

I agree with all that yet I still can't not watch.

This was destined to be a farce once Isaiah was ruled out. Not only was he the guy who put the whole thing together, he would also the only guy on the roster able to score and create for others. He was the only actual PG or Lead Guard on the roster. We got a quick reminder of how awful Dawes is when playing PG.

Gill looked horrendous and was beat time and time again by the unknown big man on Syracuse. Brodie was slightly better but no one on SH could rebound. I was shocked there was only a -3 rebound margin as it seemed Syracuse took offensive rebounds from us whenever they wanted.

The only guy who played well on our end was Terry Roberts. He was the only one who could hit a 3. Thank God for him our we may have lost by 40+.

Our roster really lacked offensive talent and the guys with "defensive" skills got abused. Ndefo played hard but Swider schooled him. Painful to watch KC launching 3's.

It was a bit of a reminder of how good Willard and Sha (and Billemeier) are as coaches. They were able to win a lot of games with guys like Gill, Ndefo and Dawes as important pieces. Ro Gill was a seldom-used backup at a JUCO when Grant found him and turned him into a dominating monster in the Big East as a Senior. Couldn't score a point last night. No one wanted Ndefo out of HS but Sha got him to be 3-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and rode him to an Elite 8.

He averaged 7 & 5 as a senior albeit he won most improved and defensive POY. He was never a “dominating monster in the BE”

Is Whitehead even still good? Was he playing in a legit overseas league? Do we really know he would've made much of a difference?

I'm not implying he wouldn't, I honestly haven't followed his career since leaving SHU.

Exactly. Blue colored nostalgia aside, we’re talking guys who - no offense, just reality - are has beens.

He averaged 10 & 6 with 3.5 Blocks in the Big East and was absolutely a dominating presence anchoring our defense and shutting teams down. You don't win Defensive Player of the Year AND Most Improved Player in a stacked Big East without having a major impact.

He did this for a team that tied for a BE Championship, was ranked 15th in the Nation and was destined to be a 3rd or 4th seed in the NCAAT. His tremendous shot-altering and intimidating blocks along with some powerful dunks broke the spirit of opposing teams.

He led the BE in blocks and was 3rd in the Nation with 3.4.
He led the BE in eFG% at 63.5%
He led the BE in True Shooting % at 65.1%
He led the BE in FT rate at 56.7%
He was 7th in BE in Offensive Rating at 118.8
He was 3rd in BE in Defensive Rating at 93.4
He was 2nd in BE in Dunks and 15th in Nation with 51

He was especially impactful during our 10-1 BE start averaging 4.4 Blocks per Game and teams were held to 66.5 points per game. He took away the inside game of every team until coaches figured out they had to change their gameplans. They stopped going into the paint when he was on the floor and began to play 5-out against us to draw him away from the paint. Without him protecting the rim, teams averaged 76.1 points in the final 7 games, while he averaged only 1.9 blocks and we finished 3-4.

Most of the guys playing TBT are not in top leagues. Isaiah played in good leagues across Europe for 5 seasons after leaving the NBA. He moved around a lot and had some solid years. He left Europe for Israel in 23/24 then to Poland and back to Israeli. Played just 11 games this season due to injury.

So, he's not assured of dominating the TBT but he still has ability. More importantly, he loves SH and badly wanted to represent the Hall again. He also would be a lead guard which we sorely missed.

I’m not debating that he wasn’t good or that he didn’t have a major impact. You said he was a dominating monster which is incorrect. Payne put up better numbers as a senior.

I'm tired of seeing all the negative comments about the guys who will be repping the Hall in this tournament. We're all disappointed about some guys who for one reason or another are unable to make it..... the guys who are putting themselves out there deserve better than to be labeled has beens. Get over yourselves already.

Everything about this has been disaster.
Whitehead
Injuries
Uniforms
Roster even with injuries
Lose by 30 at home
I got called names and negative for saying we were going to get demolished and lose 2-0. Cuse didn’t have their 2 best players either LOL
Don’t do this goofy tournament again unless the first call is to Powell. Let him be the coach, GM, player.

Screw Powell, let him stay with the fish. But we need a minimum of Whitehead, Desi, Cale, and if we can get lucky some combination of Rhoden, Angel and Carrington.

You do not take Powell back until he shows contrition for what he did. This win at all cost and turn a blind eye to what he did trying to ruin careers at Seton Hall makes him Persona non grata and rightly so.

If he wants to come back to his alma mater he knows what he has to do. And until he makes amends you will never see him representing SHU.

Pie in the sky! Most are not available (or interested) and if Gill's performance is an indication, other than Rhoden, the others might not be very good.

Whitehead, Desi, and Cale were already signed up for the team or wanting to participate. I don’t think it’s pie in the sky to have at least one of the Rhoden/Carrington/Angel group.
