ESL's 300-pound line and superior three-headed running attack will likely lead the Flyers past DoDo Brown on the ground. I do think DDB will have to revert ro running because Flyers DBs are collectively superior to what MC has at WR.
Flyers dont have the 3 rbs attack anymore. MJC is still there. One transferred to ritter and another has a leg injury and out for the year I believe.

Plainfield E QB has faced ESL and even lead the Bengals to a lead in the 1st qtr against the Flyers, without any top recruits as teammates, just the neighborhood kids and the GOAT as a coach.

I just watched that game again last night, so it’s fresh in my memory, and that doesn’t match what I saw. PE didn’t score until its third possession, after the Flyers were already up 14-0. PE got a first down on a 25-yard pass, another on a pass interference call, then scored on a 20-yard pass. At halftime, it was 55-7. PE had just three first downs in the first half, two from penalties. I don’t have my notes with me, but 1st half offensive stats for PE were around 70 yards total offense 55/25. Final stats were 54 yards rushing and 94 yards (9-for-21) 0 INT.

His stats would obviously be better with MC’s players around him.
Kudos to him if Coach Lynch deems him the best QB on the team. I thought we had 3 very capable QB’s in the system already that have shown they were ready to lead the team.

They never lead in that game. PE went 4 plays, punt and Gomiller ran it back for a TD.

Not sure if you can take anything from that game for the qb as PE didnt really allow him to do anything.

Perhaps my memory is wrong, but I was under the impression they went up 7-0 then the avalanche came.

Even at 14-7 he had them right in striking distance 😏

MC has won, what, the last 4 or 7 games between these two and until they lose the money is on the Caravan!!!~ MC gets complacent in these games... One day they will have to learn to get mean and step on their opponents neck just to show that they can.
East St Louis won the first meeting between the 2 schools in '87 (6A semi). MC has now won in '88 (6A final), '95 (5A semi), '17 (7A Q), '18 (7A Q) and '23 (opener) for the 5-1 series lead.

MC has scrimmaged Simeon, Kenwood and Bolingbrook and from what I'm told they did very well as far as scrimmage play goes. 3 very athletic teams with great speed and Bolingbrook with a power running back. I'm guessing this was by design to prepare the best they can for ESL with great speed at WR and Power at RB.

Is there an IHSA limit on amount of scrimmages? Or have they just tossed their hands up?

Nothing prepares you for the Flyers. MC looked good. I came away encouraged, however. I hereby amend my prediction of 6th place in the West to 5th place.

One particular word was not dared to be scripted in WoW!
I was shocked at 22k views for that video - must be circulating in the city.

Other amusement points - the ELS DB talking shtuff to a WR's dad. And the mini skirmishes that you knew would happen but were forbidden. And the kids doing the policing of that at certain levels.

Is Lift any good? They got thrashed by SF two years ago in ESL Classic.
Decentish, I think we'd all say... for a Class 2 MO school. They play some big boys in the Metro market annually.

QND beat them 20-6 in 2023 fwiw, the year QND went 4-5 and beat ALAH in 2A Rd 1.

In 2025 they beat Murphysboro and Cahokia

This year's schedule...
W1 - @ De Smet
W2 - @ Brentwood (TN)
W3 - @ Lutheran St. Charles
W4 - @ SLUH
W5 - St. Mary's South Side
W6 - Cardinal Ritter
W7 - @ Chaminade
W8 - Columbia Hickman

2021: 8-5
2022: 9-4
2023: 8-4
2024: 8-6
2025: 10-5

Interesting, I was told on here SF better watch out for their speed and then Sparty ran circles around them.

Idk who told you that but it's funny. They definitely have athletes. I liken them to whatever urban public school from Central IL you'd like. Springfield High, Peoria Central, Bloomington, etc. Tons of athletes, and some years they put it together and win some games or make a decent playoff run. I think 2025 QND would have handled them with more ease than our 2023 squad that scraped by, just my opinion.

All that said, they don't shy away. They play with the big Catholics and pubs in the STL area for being a smaller school in the MO system.

I'll keep the identity to myself, lol.

Good for them for not backing down and scheduling tough.

Ok Kevin from Joliet.

Ok to what?

I don't understand gambling terminology?
or
ESL is a great team?
or
I would take MC plus 2.5 points?

Which is it?

Yes, Kevin from Joliet.

Kevin... Kevin from Joliet wants the action... I think... or maybe he doesn't... he's very unsure of himself.
??????????????????? WTF?

If you are going to keep talking like your thoughts are completely disjointed, you better start charging me rent for living in your head Dude. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Learned something about Lift for Life today- it is RIGHT across the river, in a strip mall that may at one time have been a car lot. It neighbors two dispensaries and John's Donuts (AWESOME), and is within a quarter mile of some great drinks and eats in Soulard!

Lift has several transfers from ESL and other top programs from the area. They also return key players Lift should be pretty good this year. Maybe a couple key players away

See, this is the type of stuff we get when ppl go "googling" out-of-state programs. Love it! lol They were awesome folks a few years back when we met em. They brought a decent amount of folks and were eager to talk ball. Not surprised at all, if it's the same coach, that they've lifted a few athletes from surrounding elite programs to boost their own. Good on 'em.

What is the spread now that Flyer has a dual-threat kicker?
I still say go for 2 every time. The kicker is for actual field goals which may come in handy against MC with their Big 10 DL.

Im still torn on who I think will win. Im planning on catching the SHG/LWC game at Wesleyan then making my way over to ISU. Probably will make up my mind between the two games
