Win because of the coach, not in spite of him. I wonder what that’s like. 😞

We shall see. He brought in a top ten transfer class and his players are talking up the hype. Several new coaches in the SEC and I'm sure they all have high expectations.

Can we apply "Great man theory vs Situational theory (of history) to D1 head football coaches. Certainly, some are better than others. All are abundantly qualified and talented to even get one of those coveted jobs. So, when a coach "turns a program around" is it because he brought the secret sauce or the last guy left the ingredients for success that just occurred in an untimely fashion (for the departed coach)? IMO, it's likely a combination of each. I think the very best coaches are those who have improved programs at every stop.
As for new coaches, hope springs eternal. But the math will never change. 50% of all teams/coaches competing will lose. Yet most fan bases are convinced, "we deserve better."

Yep, somebody has to lose. Still, like PSU this year and beyond, there is hope for every team with a new staff and players.

You have look at the details. He's not wrong. They are going to win big vs. Youngstown State in week one. Week 2 vs. Bama they get boatraced on the way to the Las Vegas Bowl.
