Some good old fashion fun violence. Not playing Reacher but he's playing someone like Reacher it looks like.
Cast includes Shailene Woodley and Amber Heard. Got my attention. Toss in Gary Oldhama and Gerard Butler from some cred.
Very good cast. I like Abdul-Mateen and tried to watch that version of Man on Fire but didn’t like it.
Ever seen 'Locke'? It's Tom Hardy in a car on the phone the entire movie. Literally the whole film is him having a few different phone calls over the course of a drive he is taking to some unknown event. If you are a good enough actor, you can make anything compelling. Brad Pitt though? Unless shirtless the whole time for the ladies I don't know that he has those kind of chops...
Also, happy to see this thread is going strong! So many good films I need to see!
My introduction to Chazelle and still the best movie going experience I've had this past decade. Also, I think Chazelle was wrongly persecuted for 'Babylon' - Robbie's performance and the sheer scale of the thing are absolutely insane. His next film sounds really promising though:
Damien Chazelle’s New Prison-Set Film Starring Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig Has Wrapped Filming - Set in the 1940s, the film follows a prison warden (Craig) who attempts to discipline a defiant inmate (Murphy) within a brutal correctional system.
Also, love that they corrected Gosling's hand on the poster for the 10 year re-release! New image on right...
