It’s sad but you really have to get off the water after a big event like blue angels. Just too many drunks. I always try to get in early in 4th of July for the same reason.![]()

The number of people who will turn their underage kid loose on a 300hp jet ski is unreal but what’s worse is adults who act dumber than the kids. The biggest problems with boats is they ain’t got breaks and people are idiots. Every time I ride the Jourdan River in the summer I’m amazed there aren’t more fatalities the way folks operate boats and jet skis.

Someone just posted this picture of the two boats. Left boat was from Louisiana and hit the right boat which is registered in Mobile. Woman who died was in the right boat.
That was my thoughts based on looking at those pictures.Ughh, looks like left just ran up over the back of the other boat. Wouldn’t be surprised if the hull hit her in the head as loaded with folks as they were.
Awful and so unnecessary.
I saw a comment about looking behind you before taking off the gas because of an upcoming no wake zone and not following so closely you can’t react. It seemed like they had actual information on what happened but I guess they could have been just coming to the same conclusion as you and just further speculating on how it could have happened. But pretty specific to just be speculating off the pictures of the damage.Ughh, looks like left just ran up over the back of the other boat. You are correct about that sir..On any given summer day,2/3 of the population of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are from the southern third of Louisiana. If you didn’t know better you would think everyone in the state lived within twenty miles of I10.
I took my family to Pensacola from OB to see the Angels several years ago in the Tritoon. I had a great time and was never worried but they won’t be taking that trip again, it got pretty crazy!![]()

My father-n-law has a house near pickwick on the water. We used to take the boat out every summer, but now we just hang out around the house because to many people have boats that do not need them. I know a guy that had to save a kid a few weeks back that was thrown off the back of a jet ski. Driver of the jet ski had a little too many to drink and didn't realize the kid was thrown off.The biggest problems with boats is they ain’t got breaks and people are idiots. I’ve heard down here that the blue mobile boat was leaving the Wharf docks and was basically sitting still and the La boat T-boned them at high speed. It’s just the local gossip, no idea if it’s true.I saw a comment about looking behind you before taking off the gas because of an upcoming no wake zone and not following so closely you can’t react. That was my guess from looking at the damage. The albury's damage was mostly on the back left. Other boat had the front left hull just about ripped off, so I was thinking it hit hard on that left stern at almost 90 degrees (whether it was sitting still or both were moving). I was surprised that other people thought it looked like being hit from behind. But if it hit as sort of an angle from behind and the bow of the boat from behind basically road up into the boat, that would do a better job of explaining the injuries I think.I’ve heard down here that the blue mobile boat was leaving the Wharf docks and was basically sitting still and the La boat T-boned them at high speed. I have heard it both ways. That it was right outside the wharf and in a no wake zone, and also that the collision was further east in wolf's bay outside of a no wake zone, and the boats were just pulled to the wharf after the collision. No clue what's right. Doesn't seem like the boat with the front half left missing would have been able to make it to the wharf if it didn't happen basically right there. It happened in a no wake zone
