The lout Earl Hammner whined that Spencer's Mountain was altered to be unrealistic. Then the bum later admitted that he falsified much of the Waltons to make the crap attract and keep mindless viewers longing for "the good old days" which weren't so good.
My dad grew up in north Joisey and head this live--but they knew what it was.
My parents and my hick immigrant grandparents also heard it and laughed.
