I agree. A lot of fouls on Argentina that were thug like. Espana clearly the better team and it would have been a travesty if it had gone to PKs with Argentina winning.

He is a 39 y/o man who played at the top of the game against players younger than him. It was his last World Cup. He was greatly disappointed. Can you respect that?
Yesterday’s match was so underwhelming. Argentina’s sole MO was to roughhouse themselves into a tie at 120’ and then win by penalty kicks. Ugly and the bad thing is that they came damn close. If it hadn’t been for that idiotic pair of yellow cards it might have worked. It would have been a so much better World Cup had Egypt held on against Argentina, would have resulted in a totally different, more positive, vibe. Argentina played ugly, you don’t want that catching on.
I thought is was a game that kept me interested because of the multiple shots on goal the Argentinian goalie stopped while playing with a broken finger that requires surgery, for Spains ability to control the ball and play formidable defense, the incredible header assist leading to Spain's lone goal, and finally the drama of Argentina missing on two close in scoring opportunities in the waning minutes of the final overtime period. What I'm really glad about is the game didn't end up being decided by PKs!

It wasn’t just against Spain either. Argentina’s match with England got off to a very rough start.
So there was a pattern developing against the top tier teams. I only saw replays from the Argentina vs England match.
