The one thing that I really liked was some of the stats that used to be shown that are no longer presented
when they would list the players height and weight, I would always pay extra attention to the linemen

He has made tremendous strides from his beginning on the Score.
It's one thing to know your stuff but a totally different thing to be able to deliver it in a way casual fans can understand.

Joe Paschen, when the Will County Cable System did games.
This was long before streaming ---- late 80s - 2000s.
It was a big deal when your team was picked for the weekly "Game of The Week" because the game was "on TV!!"
They would also provide game tape highlight to Chicago Channels 2, 5, 7 & 9 news programs and clips were likely to be shown on the Sportscast portion of the news.

Going W-A-Y back in college football, a mini-golden age was in place for color commentators from the mid-70s to mid-80s. Using successful former head coaches in the booth like Bud Wilkinson (OK), Darrell Royal (TX), Ara Parseghian (ND), Frank Broyles (ARK) and Lou Holtz (ARK before ND) was highly informative. Straight football talk free of the verbal diarrhea and game-long "best in the country" gushings we often hear now. The guys above from the Southern states were at the same time naturally entertaining with some of their down-home, countrified language.
