For the record, K Peterson is ranked #31 at 141. He was #42 last season (probably too low), going 18-4.

His biggest win was #21 Ricciardi (Navy), with whom he split matches at Soldier Salute. Ricciardi went 1-2 at NCAAs.

Petersen also majored D3 champ Kade Blume.

His other 3 losses were to #1 Vega, #2 Mendez, and #47 Ragusin (who was past his prime but still dangerous). Petersen was realistically a top-30-ish guy.

He could start at many D1 programs. He could realistically win a match at NCAAs. He'd be favored to win D3s. He is not a starter at Iowa.

Mitch says this resume = no other interest.

KP had always struggled with strength and finishing shots, seemed to get in pretty deep alot. Not sure but know he was hampered with strength and conditioning a few years ago with knee injury and weight cut. But since, he seemed healthy and was wrestling good. I have no idea what his ceiling would be or if he already reached it but Im sure other schools could have used him but either they couldn't lure him in or maybe he was only interested in 1 school and it didn't work out. Either way, am glad he is back with Hawks and can fill in for Crookham and/or Bailey.

Quality depth is hard to come by, unless you're psu or okie.

Most teams would be throwing out a guy that they hope doesn't get pinned. While KP did get pinned by the champ, he was mostly competitive while filling in for an injured starter.

He will likely fill the same role this year, filling in when needed, and being competitive. Crook will definitely be on a pitch count this year, if KP can get down to 133, he'll see plenty of matches... but I think most agree, if he's our postseason starter, things have gone very wrong.

Name the school's!
TIA...or STFU

BTW: NH still sux🤣🤣🤣

I don't know. He hasn't said.

But thinking there could only be one possible reason why a guy would go into the portal but not end up transferring is completely ignorant. Especially when that guy has wins over NCAA qualifiers to his credit.

Going to guess that the feeling between him and the schools he was most interested in weren't mutual (in terms of lineup fit, size of the offer, etc.) so he felt Iowa was still his best option. Iowa has more resources for a guy at his level than schools where he has a better chance of making the lineup.

No one here thinks he's great, or that he should be in the lineup at Iowa. Total straw man.

Iowa wrestling fan starter kit: Bald head, gray goatee, too tight blue jeans, 3 months preggie gut, smokeless tobacco fatty and spitting cup, black T-shirt, beat up sneakers or old work boots all topped off by an old John Deere ball cap.
