I'd acknowledge that there is a generational aspect to this, but facial tattoos and full sleeves are simply low rent in my book. I make a mental note to subtract about 50 IQ points from anyone I see tatted up like that.
But the main premise of this thread was the OP's correctly noting that everyone has a First Amendment right to tat himself or herself up as much as they want. (Similarly, I have a First Amendment right to critique it.)
Tell us specifically what it is you love about the 50s. I bet it’s something along the lines of “women and minorities knew their role and place.”

I am a white property owning male of Anglo Saxon Protestant descent so hard for me to pick a bad time really. If you can’t acknowledge that the late 1950s to early 1960 were the US at its peak then you might as well pack up and leave. I would say late 50s to early 60s were the peak. But living through the 80s and 90s it was also very good.
Yeah, the Eisenhower years would have been glorious to live through. I think I would have enjoyed living in simpler times when a middle-class existence was possible on one income.

but the main premise of the thread is not just having tattoos, but also where you can build tattoo parlors...and establishing state laws that arbitrarily restrict both.
so while I support everyone's right to have an opinion on tattoos, you don't get to restrict other people's rights to free expression or property because of those opinions.
Yes, that specific crowd is high earning, white collar professionals with graduate degrees. You have no basis for judging them as low class beyond your own bigotry.
I tried to tell him this before- I actually don't know anyone under 40 that doesn't have at least 1 tattoo, a large chunk being white collar professionals. It's a very odd take to be morally or socially anti-tattoo in 2026, so much so that I didn't think anyone ascribed to it anymore.
I will say that the amount of EuroTrash that is in town for the World Cup is not changing my mind any. They have no concept of decorum.

Interesting opinion; I've been to Canada twice, China, Ukraine, Spain, Brazil, Costa Rica, much of the carribean islands and almost everyone seemed to like Americans.
That was mostly before the Trump era, though.
