I’ve spent a bit of time there on business and had an uncle who used to live there as an expat. But it’s been many years since I was there. For what it’s worth I had a very nice dinner way up in the Taipei 101 building (guessing that was the one climbed?). I also like nights markets - good energy and good for beers/weird snacks.
I haven’t done much touristy other than going to a hot springs resort type place in some hills outside Taipei.
Nice place and nice people. Yes, he climbed the 101.
I went to the gym today for a decent workout, and read the Economist in the sauna. Mrs. Lucas and I reviewed a new will this afternoon. Then we went to Shakespeare's and I had the Tango steak sandwich, and we watched part of the Fever game. It was a satisfying sandwich, and the waitress was surprisingly bangable for Shakes. I think she only works weekend nights.
I ordered a dozen smoked wings with Carolina gold to bring home for the WC final tomorrow. I also washed my SUV at the car wash on 1st Avenue. That's about it. Good day.

My investors are 99.9 percent super rich white Republican Iowans. They are connected to the politicians all of you repeatedly discuss. They're looking to me to make them super super rich. If I'm deported, their investment evaporates. I don't operate in a fungible business. It's all in my head which is why I have large insurance policies on me with the company as the beneficiary. They and I can make calls. This isn't as cut and dry as you think.

He was a professor at a university in Taichung (he married a Taiwanese woman studying here in the 80’s and they decided to move back to her home). He is now quite elderly and lives in New Zealand. I think he stopped teaching in Taiwan maybe 15 years ago.

I'm back in the US of A and everytime I see that Welcome to the United States sign I get teary eyed. Still the best damn country on this here Earth. And I'm originally from Seattle, so coming through SeaTac, extra special for me.

There's a huge difference between legal migrants and illegal ones. My parents were invited and still had to wait for 5 years and paid their dues in getting assimilated. I'm not condoning anything but I get amused when people shove race in my face. Some of the biggest racists I've met have been liberal Democrats.
