But he's at Iowa, where room guys don't score at Nattys.
Fans have complained for several years that the Iowa room has too many Peterson like guys.
BTW: You have ZERO idea if he had other suitors, or suitors willing to pay him.
I'm not that impressed with kp but he still is better backup than most if we take psu out of the equation. Hopefully he doesn't have to wrestle Natty's but he is better than Hawks other lightweight back ups.

He also was in a dogfight 1 0 match with the Sergio Vega the Ncaa Champ late in the third he was close to some takedowns on a kid that famously didnt get taken down till he got a little to cute and caught in a cradle but im sure you'll say yah but he got pinned

Thanks for the clarification. Cruz and Rhodes are valuable to Iowa wrestling and my post was never meant to diminish their roles.
This is exactly right..........Having a roster full of guys like this is the reason we are falling behind more every day. We WERE only behind Penn State but now we trail Oklahoma State also and have finished behind several programs we shouldn't be behind. Our Staff is a huge reason we aren't catching the teams ahead of us. Hiring a guy like Warner is just another example that Tom's time has passed.

He was good but I'm not surprised at all how his career has gone.
There's nothing wrong with having Joey Cruz, Kale Petersen quality type guys on the team if they're in their proper roles as backups / depth (which is what they currently are). Only the recruit hoarding teams (Penn State, Oklahoma State) have AAs two deep sitting on the bench waiting for their chance (Desmond, Henckel, likely at least one Raney, Sealey), it's not the norm. I'd make the point most teams don't have a Joey Cruz level guy to step in when needed at most of their weight classes. Joey Cruz has more than a handful of quality wins.
Think back to Aiden Harris (no disrespect intended to him btw) filling in at 125 for a semester a few years back. There's value to having competent backups.
Basch recently said the quiet part out loud the other day that having all these quality guys on Penn State's bench serves a purpose, it keeps them aways from the competition.
