Have been hearing rumors that WC may not have varsity football this year due to low upperclassmen numbers. Anybody have any insight to this? It would obviously affect many schedules this late in the summer.

Hey, AMD, frankly, I hope West can field a team, but if they cannot, you know what this means for those there who really want to play football?

I was able to unofficially confirm with another source that they won't be fielding a varsity team this year
Sadly every avenue I have went down has gave me this same outcome for WC
It's not public knowledge yet but probably won't be long now

Its supposed to be our last regular season home game. It'll be tough to find a replacement.
It is so sad what has happened at this school the school board and the administration at West should be ashamed of what they have let happen. These clowns have failed so many people but mainly the kids. They have let this crap go on for years.
I did hear not sure if it’s true that west only had 5 seniors and they were transferring to Hibriten.
I think the county is allowing the srs to transfer. Thats what happened at Patton 2 years ago.
I don't think any provide more than depth honestly to hibriten or maiden. If being truthful there is one I'd like to make a pitch for
All the coaching choices have cost West a lot of players over the past several years and Hibriten has got all of them. West has had a terrible administration for a long time that’s let the football program go to crap
I know about every kid on the team. There's 2 kids currently on the team from West. 1 has been here since 9th grade the other since 11th. The one that came in 9th grade had to sit out a year.

Absolutely hate to see this happen like it has. 10-15 years ago West was a strong program and its just been downhill ever since
To the best of my knowledge this is the second HS in N.C. not fielding varsity teams this year. They now join High Point Central.
It’s hard to imagine High Point Central without a varsity team. At one time, they were one of the premier programs in the state.
If Max preps is correct, HPC did not score a single point in the 2025 season, and only 13 points in the 2024 season.

You are 100% correct and I think a running clock in every game. At least they let it known early enough, I think most schools in their conference were able to find games. This could be difficult at this late date for that to happen with W. Caldwell opponents.
I think 3 kids decided to play. All 3 should add depth. Its a tough situation for them. I hope they can enjoy there senoir year of football.
The Coach English era was great. Led by Titus Tucker. Coach English was a great hire. He was a Younger coach and he brought tons of energy to the program. I remember riding up through Caldwell County and seeing a big photo of the “West Caldwell Football Team” on a billboard.
Titus Tucker was a freak athlete.
Coach English is now the Head Football Coach at Hoover in Alabama…. Yes… The school that had its on TV Show back in the mid 2000’s. Big pay day for Coach English.
Landed one of the best coaches jobs in America. He once was the head coach at West Caldwell. Crazy. Not that long ago
