Standing approximately one mile away from Mt. Nittany and Tgar can not even see a silhouette of the mountain.

How smoky is it where you are currently?

The air Smells like firewood.

I'm heading that way today. It is bad west of SC. Hard to think it is going to be worse.

Edit... it is worse.

Same thing here in my little corner of western PA. Looks like by tomorrow afternoon/evening, the wind will have shifted enough to blow the smoke elsewhere.

Madison WI, smells nasty, a good 10 degrees cooler today than yesterday very dense. Should be able to see state capital building in that shot. 6th floor UW hospital facing east

Gotta get my head out of my a$$, I didn't realize Canada's on fire again.

CLICK ON PIC TO ENLARGE

UP-DATE----both mountain ranges have disappeared in the smoke since taking the pics.

From our kitchen the mountain range is 3,600 feet distant

From our living room, the same mountain range is 4,800 ft distant

These wildfires in Canada and far western U.S. continue to create problems. Is there an issue with forestry management?
My uneducated guess is that poor forestry management plays some role in this. Before the summer of 2023 when the Canadian wildfire smoke was really bad, I don't ever remember something like that affecting vast portions of the Northeast and making a place like NYC look like the end of the world.

I could live with the smoke & residue from Canadian forest fires, but this parasitic infection troubles me. I still have residual effects from the C-diff and salmonella I contracted two yrs ago.

"Cyclosporiasis, a nasty parasitic infection that causes bouts of “explosive” watery diarrhea, has sickened hundreds of people in Michigan and other parts of the United States.

Since June 22, at least 718 cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported across at least 8 counties in Michigan: Monroe, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Wayne, Shiawassee, Jackson, Oakland and Livingston. No specific food, grower or supplier has been identified as the source so far, per the MDHHS."

The CDC is investigating a large, multistate cyclosporiasis outbreak in the U.S., with over 6,700 cases reported across at least 34 states

It’s getting hotter and staying drier in lots of places for many more days per year than previous. Fire seasons are increasing in length.

No politics. Simple facts. Math, physics, etc.

Why is this happening? I mean, I don't remember this happening at all (much less EVERY year!) growing up. Smoke smell all the way down here in LSD.

Very smoky in Buffalo. AQI was 287, very unhealthy. Can smell the burning. It seems worse here than in 2023. Hoping for a shift in the wind soon.

Me: I want to eat healthier.
Lettuce: I will give you explosive diarrhea
Oreo cookie: I would never do that to you.

Was waiting for Bob, but Ann Arbor is beyond a *****, explosive diarrhea and now 1/2 mile visibility “wrecking” havoc on the eyes and lungs to boot
