Old friends are having us to their place outside Taos NM this April. I’m told the food and vistas are outstanding. Maybe I’ll be lucky and see a UFO, if they are still a thing?

I know we are going to the Bahamas to stay on what is called a live a board (about 100' boat for 20 people) and scuba dive from it for a week
another journey might be taking the yacht to Cincinnati to get some well needed maintenance it. its a 160 mile trip, that I will probably spread over 2 days.

We took Gate 1 Tours to China and Africa and they were both great. The only drawback was that we had to endure stops in places where they obviously get paid to take you. In China it was a jade factory store and in South Africa it was a diamond store.

I did a week in Colorado in early June. The plan was to fly out on Monday, play golf Monday afternoon, rent a m/c for three days and then on Friday get a rental car and see Brit Floyd at Red Rocks, and then fly home on Sat.
Most of that happened - got into Denver, met a niece for lunch, and as soon as we finished, wanted to head to the course, and the weather opened up- in a 2 1/2 hour span, got rain, sleet, snow flurries, heavy wind, and then....hot sun. Springtime in the Rockies, I guess. So.....no golf.
The m/c trip was great, although I was with a friend who was constantlyl shifting on the back of the bike as she was trying to take photos - which is really annoying as you try to navigate a tight hairpin turn. We almost dropped the bike two or three times because of the constantly shifting weight.
Brit Floyd at Red Rocks is great - I would highly recommend going to Red Rocks, if you have never been. It's an amazing venue.
I am scheduled to go to the PSU-Washington game in Nov. Before that, I might do another trip to either Maine, or perhaps Canada either on my bike, or put the clubs in the back of my car and play golf at Sunday River or possibly Mont Tremblant, Canada.

Yes, Gate 1 does do that. It’s always one or two places, like a glass store in Murano, Venice.
Have fun. Taos is very nice. Yes food and vistas are outstanding if you just want something to do and some very nice scenery just take a drive along Highway 64. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is something to see. Taos Pueblo is a must. San Francisco de Assis church is right outside of town and interesting, a favorite of Ansell Adams and Georgia O'keeffe. Speaking of O'keeffe Ghost Ranch (highly recommended) outside of Abiquiu is about an hour and a half away. And if you really want to pamper yourself Ojo Caliente is about an hour away. Also highly recommended. If you do go to Ghost Ranch make sure you stop at Bode's and get a Burrito or huevos rancheros depending on time of day. Don't forget to get a Green Chile Cheeseburger they are ubiquitous with NM and you can get a good one almost everywhere.
Its been very, very dry in the northern part of the state and the Rio Grande is exceptionally low so if you have any plans to do anything on either the Rio Grande or Chama river double check the conditions. We are starting our monsoon season so hopefully that will help.
With some creepy abandoned and not so abandoned towns in between. Some of those towns look like they came right out of a Stephen King novel.
Nothing exciting for us old folks. Cruising in August and October, Visiting friends in the Keys for a week. Staying with my 1st Cuz Ocean City NJ. for a while.Have a few thoughts on what to do this year.....and hoping to steal other people's ideas
1. Going to Red Rocks in Colorado in June to see Brit Floyd at Red Rocks. Always wanted to go to Red Rocks. Will make it into a M/C trip aw well - rent a MC at Denver Airport and then hit up some good mountain roads in the Rockies.
2. Whenever the PSU/Washington game is scheduled, I am going to go to Seattle for the game. That will leave just Autzen for my Big 10 Road Trips.
3. Planning another M/C trip, probably in August or early Sept to Maine. Will try to get in a round at Sunday River Resort (luckily they rent clubs so I don't have to ship mine).
4. Since I worked through Christmas on a project, will probably look to do some quick trip to Caribbean in late Jan/early Feb.

5. May do a Family Pub Crawl in either NYC or London. Since I have relatives throughout the world either NYC or London would make for a good meeting place for my bougie-*** family.

Ojo Caliente is nice but if you really wish to pamper yourself, go to 10,000 Waves in Sante Fe.
LOL, I could barely afford Ojo Caliente.
TorC (Truth or Consequences) is about an hour or so up the road from Cruces. They have a couple places I like but my favorite is Blackstone Lodge. It's a quirky place much like TorC. But the waters are good. Typically 105º.

In April my wife and I traveled to Arizona for about 10 days. Explored Sedona, the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon and many more. We drove up to Las Vegas one evening to see the Eagles at the Sphere. There is so much to see and do in Arizona. A few weeks ago we revisited Niagara Falls which I hadn't seen since I was a child. They have added some great attractions like the Power Plant and Tunnel and Flight over the Falls. We are headed to Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota in September for a 3 week adventure which we will take in the Badlands, the Grand Tetons, Glacier Narional Park, Yellowstone and so much more. Next year will be our 2 week Italy trip and either Northern California/Pacific Northwest or Nova Scotia.

We spent time in June wandering around Naples and the surrounding region, but the highlight of the trip was our visit to the village of San Cipriano Picentino. It's the hometown of my great-grandfather. In recognition of my work connecting descendants and families from the village around the world, the mayor and town council honored me with honorary citizenship. No, I don't get an Italian Passport, but it was quite the honor considering I didn't even know my great-grandfather's "real" last name a few years ago.

Got too busy to cross country the 2 so shakey/dope lemon in VT next Sunday, MPACT BMW show Pocono Raceway (last year we gathered 100+ cars at Plymouth meeting mall, the drive north on the TP was insane. A python green 300k gt3rs passed me on the shoulder at 100+, HUGE Philly wedding end of August and iron blossom festival in Richmond late September

Yeah, Arenal is fantastic. The last waterfall of the hot springs, before the water goes into the pool, is my favorite place in the world (that I have been to).
We did 2 weeks in Puerto Rico. We stayed between Aguadilla and Arecibo and hit different beaches. Ran into a PSU Alum at the Ohana Beach Restaurant in Camuy. It was a very relaxing and stress free vacation.
Ended up cancelling MB this year - just too busy. Everything else was great! Nantucket is next!!
We are doing Ireland and France for Spring Break next year along with a big family trip to Italy (my FIL arranged for 12 of us to go to Italy - half have never been - via Tauck Tours). Anyone ever use them? We planned on Japan next year but postponing now that Italy happening.

Those are some nice trips. I haven’t been to Europe yet. I look forward to going in the next few years.
My daughter is leaving for a semester in Italy. We just booked a trip in October to go over and see her. She is going to meet us in Paris for a few days and then we will all head to Florence for a week.
Florence is my definition of Disneyland for adults. Simply incredible.

We ended up in Houston and Dallas for one World Cup game each instead of my original thought of Philly or KC. Glad we did as Houston and Dallas stadiums are air conditioned. Also hit OKC (hobby show), Tulsa, and Fort Worth and the zoos there (over 20 elephants, which made Mrs KG very happy) and a OKC Comets AAA baseball game and the First Americans Museum in OKC. The latter follows the newer museum concept with a lot of interactive stations and not as many artifacts.
In Florence, near Piazza San Spirito (Left Bank). Make reservations. You’ll thank me. €20-25 per person. Not at all hoity-toity.
