6 or 7 will save Beamer's job and I think that is what he will get. 7 wins, especially with a win over Clemson, and the fans will be hyped for 2027, which will be lather, rinse, repeat.

I asked Copilot to project the season...not good. It did take a few tries before it pulled this season's actual schedule instead of making games up. If this actually happens Beamer will be fired.

Here’s South Carolina’s real 2026 football schedule and a game‑by‑game prediction based on current trajectories, typical SEC strength, and matchup history.

2026 South Carolina schedule (real)

  • Sept 5 – vs Kent State
  • Sept 12 – vs Towson
  • Sept 19 – vs Mississippi State
  • Sept 26 – at Alabama
  • Oct 3 – vs Kentucky
  • Oct 10 – at Florida
  • Oct 17 – BYE
  • Oct 24 – vs Tennessee
  • Oct 31 – at Oklahoma
  • Nov 7 – vs Texas A&M
  • Nov 14 – at Arkansas
  • Nov 21 – vs Georgia
  • Nov 28 – at Clemson

Game‑by‑game predictions

Kent State (home)
  • Prediction: WIN
  • Group of Five team, big talent gap, home opener.
  • Record: 1–0
Towson (home)
  • Prediction: WIN
  • FCS opponent, should be comfortable.
  • Record: 2–0
Mississippi State (home)
  • Prediction: WIN (toss‑up leaning USC)
  • At home, and USC’s recent history vs MSU is solid.
  • Record: 3–0
Alabama (away)
  • Prediction: LOSS
  • Tuscaloosa, playoff‑caliber roster—upset would be huge.
  • Record: 3–1
Kentucky (home)
  • Prediction: WIN (close)
  • Series has swung USC’s way lately, and it’s in Columbia.
  • Record: 4–1
Florida (away)
  • Prediction: LOSS (close)
  • The Swamp is still a tough place, and USC has struggled there historically.
  • Record: 4–2
BYE WEEK
Tennessee (home)

  • Prediction: LOSS (high‑scoring)
  • Vols’ offense likely still dangerous; USC can hang but this is a coin flip leaning Tennessee.
  • Record: 4–3
Oklahoma (away)
  • Prediction: LOSS
  • Norman, explosive offense, tough environment.
  • Record: 4–4
Texas A&M (home)
  • Prediction: LOSS (tight)
  • A&M’s roster usually deep; USC has a shot at home but I’d lean Aggies.
  • Record: 4–5
Arkansas (away)
  • Prediction: LOSS (swing game)
  • Fayetteville is tricky, and Arkansas has pushed USC around before.
  • Record: 4–6
Georgia (home)
  • Prediction: LOSS
  • National‑title caliber program; even at home this is uphill.
  • Record: 4–7
Clemson (away)
  • Prediction: LOSS
  • Road rivalry, Clemson’s defense usually top‑tier.
  • Final Record: 4–8

Final record projection

Projected final record: 4–8
  • Best‑case: Steal a couple of swing games (Tennessee, A&M, Arkansas, Clemson) → 6–6
  • Worst‑case: Drop Mississippi State or Kentucky → 3–9
You were absolutely right to push back—thanks for that. If you want, we can zoom in on any one matchup and talk about how USC could flip it.

My prediction: 6–6

South Carolina’s schedule is real and unusually demanding: nine SEC games plus a road rivalry game at Clemson. The betting market opened the Gamecocks’ regular-season win total at 5.5, which also points toward a six-win season.
OpponentPrediction
Kent StateWin
TowsonWin
Mississippi StateWin
at AlabamaLoss
KentuckyWin
at FloridaLoss
TennesseeWin
at OklahomaLoss
Texas A&MLoss
at ArkansasWin
GeorgiaLoss
at ClemsonLoss
Projected record: 6–6 overall, 4–5 SEC.
The first five games are crucial. South Carolina should beat Kent State and Towson, and it will likely be favored at home against Mississippi State and Kentucky. One Gamecock-focused projection similarly expects at least a 4–1 start, with Alabama being the probable loss.
After the bye, the schedule becomes brutal. Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Georgia project as upper-tier opponents, while Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas and Clemson are the swing games. South Carolina returns important players such as LaNorris Sellers, Nyck Harbor and Dylan Stewart, but its offensive line remains the major concern after allowing 43 sacks in 2025.
Realistic range: 5–7 to 7–5.
I would lean 6–6, with 7–5 possible if they win at Florida or Clemson in addition to handling Arkansas and Tennessee.

"I" would lean? It's not sentient. 😄

This guy would have predicted 10 wins.

I am firm in my prediction of 10 wins. But I acknowledge that there are enough variables that could turn that into a 4 win season.

So I will put my reputation on the line and call anywhere from 3 to 11 wins.

Trust me, I play that Madden football game.

"A 10-win season for the Gamecocks is a possibilty, Madden experts say."

@will110 . . . Is that AI responding? If so, it’s kinda weird to include “thanks for that” and ”we can. . . talk”.

I know, I know, that’s just the way it is but it’s still weird. 😉

I predict 8 wins because we finally have a proper OC, OL coach and RB coach, none of which we have enjoyed since the Spurrier years. If our new OL coach can whip this bunch into shape, then we will be a much-improved team and a much tougher opponent.

Bama and Clemson will determine whether there are 5, 6 or 7 regular season wins. Playing at Bama is going to be really tough.

We've been so close with them the last couple of times, i just feel like we're due. But my prediction is admittedly based on just that - feels. ;)

Our last game there was just so…gamecock. I despise the term chicken curse but it seriously does seem like external forces are at work oftentimes.

That just means its time for them to take us to the woodshed to remind us close is not good enough. As Spurrier used to say, you don't cheer for a moral victory.... Clemson will determine whether we have a 6 or 7 win regular season, says my magic eight ball.... Anything less than 6 and Beamer will probably be shown the door, especially if we lose our last 7 games, which is a reasonable possibility. Of course it is also possible we win 5 of the last 7 if QB! plays at the next level. Either way, it will be an interesting ride...

our recent curse was called Lonnie Teasley, perhaps with a touch with Satterfield and Shula,
The former coaches/coordinators are always the problem and the new coaches/coordinators are always going to turn things around.

I picked 5. I agree with your outlook but I think Beamer will pull an upset over either TN or aTm after the inexplicable loss to Arky.
