Anybody have starlink? I've got Xfinity and recently got a new Modem and my service has gotten worse somehow.
3rd party modem or Xfinity gateway? Either way you may be able to exchange it. I did that with mine. I may have just had a lemon.Anybody have starlink? I've got Xfinity and recently got a new Modem and my service has gotten worse somehow.
Xfinity supposedly gave me a free equipment upgrade years ago that made internet in my house suck really bad and as a result I demanded to go back to my old equipment they provided and all has been well. Faster speeds than expected. They keep telling me I can upgrade my equipment but I never reply. Also, with the Xfinity equipment they broadcast a separate access point that anyone with an Xfinity account can log on to which I turn off because that is just stupid to let others log onto your equipment. Chances are you can find Xfinity hot sports in any neighborhood town that you can log into with your Xfinity credentials.Anybody have starlink? Exactly my issue, service has been ******er since I upgraded to the free equipment. Getting ready to try Frontiers new fiber.Xfinity supposedly gave me a free equipment upgrade years ago that made internet in my house suck really bad and as a result I demanded to go back to my old equipment they provided and all has been well. I’ve had frontier fiber for about a year and a half. Verizon currently has taken over frontiers operations. I have the, I think 500 MB package that cost me 38 bucks a month, total search arts taxes, and they added five dollars additional per month for a EERO unit. I call it an extender.Exactly my issue, service has been ******er since I upgraded to the free equipment. Getting ready to try Frontiers new fiber.
I just called and switched over yesterday, you happy with service?I’ve had frontier fiber for about a year and a half. Verizon currently has taken over frontiers operations. I would anticipate our billing charges will probably go up eight or $10 per month due to the takeover by Verizon.
Frontier has serviced me fine once we got over a few bumps in the road.I just called and switched over yesterday, you happy with service?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, does T-Mobile wireless run off the T-Mobile cell tower network? I guess, as opposed to satellite or something else. I’ve been thinking about going that route but their cell service is horrible at my house. We have T-Mobile 5G and I couldn't be happier. Download speeds in the 250-500 MBPS range and super reliable. Never an issue streaming video. Since I'm a T-Mobile wireless customer the price is $30/month. I got it during one of their promos.
Was letting your wife know about "Frontier" servicing you one of the bumps in the road?Frontier has serviced me fine once we got over a few bumps in the road.
I live in the mountains of NEPA, Lehman Twp. The only cable & phone service available for 30+ yrs was Blue Ridge which was costing a ton of money. When we received notice from Frontier that they were installing fiber to our area & I thought of switching over to Frontier, especially since their office was in nearby Dallas. Several weeks later, while waiting for my wife in the parking lot while she was grocery shopping, I called Frontier to order the 500MG bundled with the free landline phone.
Called Frontier to order the $30 bundled package-fiber cable and landline, the gal estimated the monthly billing to be around $170 per month. from there it went downhill fast, told the gal I'd stop at the Frontier office in Dallas on my way home. She explained they no longer have a local office and inquires would be handled somewhere in the mid-west. I immediately thought I'm dealing with idiots and signing with Frontier will be a huge mistake; it took from early afternoon to after 5pm with 4-customer service persons to sign up.
A couple of months with Frontier the fiber cable broke from the house and was laying on the ground. The old Blue Ridge cable was never removed from the house, during heavy wind gusts the fiber wrapped around the old cable and tore from the house. Called Frontier, explained the situation, they replied by sending out a work order and gave me a date when service people would repair the downed line--the date was 7-days after my call.
Hopefully Verizon will have better customer service.
A few days later, traveling along the twp. road I noticed Frontier utility truck, stopped and told the repairman about the downed line leading to my house, he told me after taking care of his work order, he'd stop at my location. By the time we got home, the fellow removed the old Blue Ridge cable and rerouted the fiber.
This was the only repair issue I had after signing with Frontier, the field personal are wonderful people.
Below are a few pictures of the mile long township road the utilities have to be routed to provide service to our family's homestead, typical loss of power in the winter and during summer storms. Over the past 4th of July, we lost power Friday afternoon and restored on the following Monday. Frontier's service was not compromised; fiber service was fine once the back-up generator was started.
I received several text notices on my cell phone from Frontier stating apologies for the break in service and it would be restored at 2pm Monday.
I guess "AI" must be handling their customer service assuming power lines are down, then so is the fiber.
You can hear the banjoes playing when traveling along the Twp road.....
