Delco gets a nice shoutout during Kevin McGonigle’s intro.

I remember as a young kid really wanting the NL to kick ***.

I haven’t changed.

Philly fans are brutal, booing NL All-Stars who aren't Phillies. Great job by Philly's own Patti LaBelle with the National Anthem!
The guys getting booed are loving it. You can see them crack up when someone gets booed loudly.

Chris Myers trolling Juan Soto by saying “keep the cheers rolling” - knowing he’ll get crushed

I like this microphone they have so we know the pitches. The batter can't hear the catcher talking or is it only the pitcher calling the pitches?

The MLB all star game used to be a rather big deal - the players seriously cared about it (a lot), and it was very entertaining for the fans.

Now it is a complete waste of time, and no one cares (not on the field or off). Shame that younger fans will never know how cool the all star game used to be.
Agreed but there's lots of valid reasons for that--back in the day it was the only time NL/AL players competed against each other so if the All Star was in Philly back then it would have been your only chance to see the AL stars in person without traveling
Players also now understand the game is just an unnecessary risk. The Rays could have lost Caminero for the season last night--for what?
JMO All Star games (and the Pro Bowl) shouldn't be played--just "honor" players and call it a day

When the most memorable part of all star week is a glorified batting practice, you know the whole affair has long-since jumped the shark.
Really a shame, because baseball is the one and only major sport that lends itself perfectly to a mid-season all star game.

Hasn't reached the clownish proportions of the NBA and NFL "games", but not far behind (Thinking of it: do they even have an NFL Pro Bowl anymore? I honestly don't know).

The ASG used to determine which team would get Home Field for the World Series and really meant something now it's just like all the other All Start Games - meaningless exhibition game.

Fox actually had an hour pre game show for this. And for some reason I had it on but was not really paying attention. I do think it is the best of the three between the NBA and NFL. Only because the NFL doesn't have one and the NBA ASG has disintegrated into a worthless scrimmage where no one puts forth any effort, no defense as in not even trying at all and everyone wants to either jack a 3 or dunk.

What I find strange and last night was a perfect example is how the American League almost always dominates this game. I looked it up: since 1988 the American League has won 29 times, National League 8 times with 1 tie and a cancelled game in 2020.

The game truly used to be special, the best "All Star" game among the major sports. Now they're all out to out do each other with all the BS peripherals-pregame and in game. Maybe I'm just to old to adapt to the new formats but, IMHO, let them play the game without all the outside add-ons.

And that’s after the NL used to destroy the AL in the 70s and 80s. As for this year, It’s weird because the NL is rolling in interleague play (137-100) and the AL has less than a handful of teams over .500.
