FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 27-year-old Fort Wayne woman allegedly seen engaged in bestiality on videos found on a convicted sex offender’s phone is taking a plea deal.
Cassie Lynn Snay was charged with two counts of bestiality, which carry a potential prison sentence of five years.
In December 2024, the Wells County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into Trey Mettler for failure to register as a sex offender in connection with a child molesting conviction, court records show. Mettler was arrested a month later during a traffic stop when police confiscated a phone found in the car.
Allen County’s High Tech Crime Unit analyzed the phone, finding multiple files of child sexual abuse material, court documents say. Photos of Snay and Mettler were also on the device, with the detective on the case noting he knew her from previous arrests, and that she and Mettler were in an “on-again and off-again relationship.”
During the search, 13 different photos and videos of dogs engaged in sex acts with a female were found on the device, with Snay being identifiable in all but one of the files, court records show.
Snay allegedly admitted to committing the crimes and sending the photos and videos to Mettler, saying they were created at a residence in Allen County or at the Motel 6 on Coliseum Boulevard, court records show. She told police the dogs in the photos and videos were hers, adding that she only engaged in sexual behavior with one of them.
In February, Snay’s bond was revoked after she was found to have violated one of the conditions of her pre-trial release, specifically that she was not to have contact with the dogs involved in the case.
Per her plea agreement, she will continue to be barred from having contact with the dogs and must also complete a counseling program for sexual perpetrators.
On Monday, she pleaded guilty as charged in exchange for a one-year, concurrent executed sentence, followed by adult probation.
If eligible, she may be able to serve her executed sentence in Allen County Community Corrections.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 4.
