Tap water in Georgetown amber colored and completely safe to drink. The water does not come from the Pearl River. It is drawn from the Forest Hill Aquifer and Miocene Aquifer. Annual water quality reports continue to be among the best in the region.

We (Copiah Acad.) played a road basketball game at Union Academy back in the late 80s. The managers filled the water cooler when we arrived. That amber water looks mighty un-thirst-quenching in those white paper cups.

I've been concerned about acid rain since the 9th grade. If it's been such a problem for so long, then why does my pool's PH go up whenever it rains???

Dad? Is that you? This is exactly what my dad used to say. To be fair, it's more of a rust belt issue where there's heavy industrialization and pollution.

It was an issue after Shuttle launches too. The SRBs had some nasty particles.

My wife had been wondering why the toilet cleaner that usually looks blue had turned purple in recent weeks, now we know it’s the manganese.
In other news, we always knew when there was a dead frog in the well when the water coming through the garden hose tasted funky when I was a kid.
