This isnt unique to Democrats or Trump haters.

The group you are struggling to correctly identify here are called 'assholes'. Assholes are who cheer and celebrate assassination attempts, murders and/or deaths of those whose politics they dont like.
Go onto Twitter if you want to feel dirty, and read through all the awful comments whenever someone political is killed or dies. Its disgusting, and its done by people who ascribe to all types of political views.

When the leader of the Free World lacks decorum and tact, society slowly follows. It is easily visible on social media, it is a small overall percent of the population that is actively awful, and all political groups contain some of these actively awful people.

- "Robert Mueller just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead..."

- “I never was a fan of John McCain, and I never will be.”

- “Maybe he’s looking up,” (referring to recently deceased U.S. Rep. John Dingell)

- “Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media...he was a classic RINO, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans...”

- Reiner died "reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME..."

In summary, Trump’s often a huge *******.

Why is it impossible for you to ever learn how to use fewer, rather than more, words??

Rather than you saying what I’m trying to claim, maybe just let folks read my words and decide for themselves.

My issue is with celebrating death and political violence, whoever is doing it. It just seems to have been more pronounced from those I indicated above. I could definitely be mistaken.

In the particular case I’m objecting to here, the leaning of the perpetrator has become pretty clear.
I was pointing out that Quaoars was responding to you and not making a new statement in the post that DCD criticized. Quaoars did the same thing I did- pointed out that your comment was the initial one which claimed one side does it(or does it 'more').

Yes, you are definitely mistaken that vile comments are more pronounced from the left.
The internet is flooded with vile celebratory death comments from people who identify as rightwing/conservative/republican/maga/christiannationalist.
Absolutely flooded with celebratory comments.
And since I am sure it needs to be repeated- the internet is also flooded with vile celebratory death comments from people who identify as leftwing/liberal/democrat/progressive.

Claiming one side is more vile or that one side is less vile is 17ing pathetic. If its 52/48 or 47/53...who the 17 cares? That is effectively equally awful and not worth trying to say one side is less vile. Hell, even if it were a 60/40 split in either direction, it would be pathetic for someone to be like 'well your side has 50% more vile comments than mine!'.

I was providing actual quotes.
And I was trying to show you in part WHY, in my view, so many feel emboldened to post vile celebratory comments about the death of others.

Part of why is because people follow what they see as acceptable from leaders in society. Its no different that kids patterning behavior after their parents.

Like I said I could be mistaken.

But it is my opinion (that’s what you’re espousing as well, btw, an opinion) that the kind of joy I indicated in my original post is more common from left leaning or Trump hating (they can be right of center) A holes.

Opinions will differ. Please note that I’m not going to call you “17ing pathetic” for having a different opinion than me.

"So I just want to say, I feel good about the Republican Party. I feel good about where we're going as a nation. We're killing all the right people, and we're cutting your taxes...We've run out of bombs. We didn't run out of bombs in World War II."

oof.
So you don't think that certain terrorists and Hamas militants should have been killed?

This thread is a great microcosm of where we are these days.

Conservatives: No one should celebrate the death of a human being regardless of politics. It's disgusting.
Leftists: But TRUMP said this and that!!!!1!!!!
Conservatives: We agree, he shouldn't have said that. I wish he didn't do stuff like that. It's similar to when these 500 different leftist public figures celebrated publicly when ______ died. They shouldn't have said that either.
Leftists: Yeah but TRUMP said this too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's just all about that one guy from their perspective. We could pull literally hundreds of examples from Twitter or TV clips of different leftist politicians and celebrities doing the same or worse repeatedly over the last decade, but they will always get to the fallback position of "But Trump". It is exhausting.

As a "blue hair" my reaction to Graham's quick death is the same as John's when told and older friend had been killed instantly when a truck ran him off the Mississippi River bridge.....

Yep

For some strange reason, nuanced political opinions don’t get attention **
Introspection, with an eye toward learning something new that might change your opinion on something is not highly valued. I'm not sure that is breaking news, either. It's much more comfortable to assume that whatever you currently believe is the God's honest fact and not think too hard about it.

I don’t really keep up with politics here in the US, so i definitely don’t keep up with it abroad…. But do other countries routinely have leaders die while still in office. It’s past time for age and term limits.
I have no idea, but I can't imagine wanting to literally work yourself until you die. I may do it but it won't be because I want to! Is Congressional power that intoxicating? Do these folks have no hobbies or family that they care about?

You are misrepresenting the initial claim that has largely fueled the conversation this morning. The initial claim was that its not rare for specifically democrats or Trump haters to celebrate the death of political people they dont like.

A simple perusal of Twitter shows that claim is baseless.

You are claiming in your post here that

Reacher saying Graham delaying a dr appt to do a tv interview is 'chef's kiss' was not nice. Finding humor in Graham's death is not nice.
I found Graham to be lacking in spine and way too war hungry, but his death is not funny to me.

Citing examples of people on the right acting poorly when people on the left die is not justification for people on the left behaving poorly.
It is simply showing that when leaders lack decorum and tact, the populace will slowly follow.
And it is intended to show that it is not a one sided issue, despite the claim that is is 'largely' a one sided issue.

People who publicly celebrate the death of political adversaries suck.
Just quietly take solace in the fact that they are no longer a thorn in your side. That is proper behavior.

Instead of staying quiet, we have national leaders like US Senator Mike Lee who posted jokes and lies after the killing of a Democrat state legislator.

It isnt all just about Trump- there are countless political leaders who post absolutely vile and disappointing comments after political adversaries are killed or die.
And as I have repeatedly said- Twitter and the internet is flooded with vile comments from the people too. Left and Right, liberal and conservative, progressive and christian nationalist- people in all those groups make countless vile comments all the time when someone they oppose is killed or dies.

Trying to claim vile celebratory posts come largely from one group is the actual microcosm of where we are these days. That sort of disconnect from reality is dangerous.

Mitch with a message for the haters.

Note that he felt the need to include yesterday’s Washington Post in the pic. Sad that he had to do that, but the online conspiracies are absolutely out of control.

We have a populace that is well trained to prefer conspiracies over truths and data.

Simply put, it's disgusting to refuse to allow a SCOTUS seat to be filled by blocking the nominee for nearly a year.
Doesn't matter who is in office and who is leading up the Legislature.
On the other hand, Senate ratification is the check and balance to keep a President from just putting outright radicals (left or right) on the Supreme Court. I'm not sure how to realistically fix it. Of course electing better Presidents and better Senators would be a great start, but that's not realistic at all.

Graham is a huge loss to the country and the world. I'm afraid we are going to find out just how big it is over the next few months.

Trump has been Impeached TWICE. He has a long memory, and yes, he can be vindictive.
