I wouldn’t get hopes up for Brick; word was that he isn’t too interested in school. Maybe word on the street is wrong though.
Would be nice to play baseball at state and just never go to class. Maybe just take minimum class load and really easy classes.
Can you take online classes. And by take online I mean you sign up and use some NIL to hire a nerd to take the class for you.

Not wrong. And either he's getting paid well over slot or it's not going to take a lot to sign him because he got drafted well below his draft ranking.
Looks like the Jays only had two picks today, with the other one being #39. So they should have extra money to give him well over slot.
Wasn't it sort of understood that several of our HS kids were draft risks, and likely not coming to State? Especially Brick and Manny.

Yes. And this is why High School kids with talent that the pros want to bring in, the Portal is the safety net now for schools like MSU. We can get a guy with as much or more talent who has at least 1 more year before draft eligible, and plug that experience right in. Jacob Parker was woefully underrated by the scouts and it worked out great for us.
Ah, damn. Duh. Guess I still was thinking he’d be playing in the minors in the US for quite a bit.
And actually it looks like their High-A affiliate team is in Vancouver. Learned something today….honestly did not know their were any MiLB teams in Canada.
The way nil SHOULD be used. I would never have a problem with nil if it were used in an old school way.

I know every situation is unique, but I dont see how it makes sense to go pro if outside of top 3-4 rounds especially in day of NIL

There are ways for teams to pay a 9th rounder much more than 9th round money. MLB draft is unique in this way.
Lord and the kid from TX were the pitchers that I thought we had a good chance of losIng. I don’t know where we stand with the Texan right now. Lord can put on a lot of weight and should be throwing north of 95 without much trouble. It sounded like the Texan was a late bloomer as a P but had impressed the scouts.
Kind of how SF paid Dakota the amount he got not being in one of those 1-2 rounds. Overslotting deals and saving more of their bonus pool money on the first few picks.
Not only is he just 17, he’s a young 17 having just had a birthday in May. Seems extremely rare these days for a player that young to be getting drafted.
