Hell I thought he was dead and wife ran to China or something like that
Rumored to be. Then rumored to be brain dead. But supposedly he called some senators on the phone. Wife did go to China. Probly reporting to her leader. I think his cheese has slid off the cracker. You know its crazy how these senators die in office. They will not quit. Its obvious he has issues and cant be making decisions

Most likely brain dead but they are doing everything they can to keep his heart beating until Aug 3. After that date they avoid a special election, with Massey likely joining in as a spoiler. Thr KY leg passed a law to take the power of appointing a temp successor from the Governor after a Dem won. Special election instead unless within 3 months of a regular election.

Gop Senate now down 2 votes, in addition to Collins being election-constrained and Cassidy not inclined to vote for anything he doesnt like after losing his primary. Party-line vote bills are very unlikely to pass.

It’s more difficult than ever now to have any sort of principles as a senator. I think Lindsey did as well as he could for a long time. Legislators from both parties have completely abdicated their responsibilities as a check on the balance of power.

He and McConnell are pros.

If right to life is your thing, you owe McConnell a major debt of gratitude. He is more responsible than anyone else for the overturning of Roe.

In one of the ballsiest procedural moves on senate history, he held up Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court nomination for 293 days until Obama was out of office.

No chance that decision goes that way with Garland on the court instead of Kavanaugh.

Republicans have no idea how much they’ll miss these guys when they’re gone. Same with Pelosi and the Democrats. They’re really good at what they do.

If they’re not MAGA maniacs or socialist democrats nobody wants to hear it. The far right and far left are what gets all the attention unfortunately.

I don’t really keep up with politics here in the US, so i definitely don’t keep up with it abroad…. But do other countries routinely have leaders die while still in office. It’s past time for age and term limits.

Mitch with a message for the haters.

Note that he felt the need to include yesterday’s Washington Post in the pic. Sad that he had to do that, but the online conspiracies are absolutely out of control.

IF a special election was necessary and held, the winner would have the job for a few months.

Add Sullivan (Alaska) and possibly Husted (Ohio) to the list of "election-constrained"

Hard to make phone calls when you are brain dead and on machines. There is always the possibility some folks are lying about his calls. He and his allies are not trustworthy patriots obviously. Mitch couldn't retire cause his Chinese bosses need his votes. Feinstein was in the same situation. She was cooked but still was guided thru her vote by handlers

Won't be any term limits, those that are responsible for creating the bill to be voted on are the ones who are in office. Just really sad situation for the American people.

^^^ McConnell is alive and well. Rough night for these types (again.)

That picture does little to inspire confidence. We desperately need a constitutional amendment to retire congressmen, presidents, judges, etc at 72 years old.

But he's not dead. Or Braindead. Or in a coma. Like so many of these super-online right folks said. But the people who listen to them and come repeat their nonsense won't stop. They'll just forget about this one and go on to the next one.

Dead, brain dead or not. He’s not qualified to serve in the senate in his condition. Of course there are dozens of others in That boat too.
