That's what you want to hear, to make yourself feel better. The reality is, it's about rejecting extremism. There are "sides" that don't involve extremists. And, from topic to topic, you can be on different "sides."

Right. It's someone else's fault you suck. It's not your fault for being bad at this, and going crazy with extremist progressive views, and turning people off from your "side" or your candidates ... it's someone else's fault for trying to be reasonable and, in doing so, not letting you get your way. Why not just talk to fellow extremists, and get them to calm the eff down, come back to reality, and join forces with the moderates in promoting an imperfect candidate that appeases the middle, as well? You did a crappy job of crafting your message and recruiting ... and it's not your fault, of course. Again, it's just like the "party of personal responsibility and accountability" (aka what used to be the Republicans, and is now the MAGAts) ... nothing's their fault, either. It's time to start acting like an adult. Give it a try.

No, you don't want to discuss the merits of topics, and actually work toward solutions ... you want to rage and blame place. Feel better now? Got it all out? It's totally not your fault ... now how are you going to fix yourself so as to prevent MAGAt from rising up again and spreading its hate and incompetence? By being a spoiled brat who isn't at fault because folks weren't excited to sign off on your extremist ideals? Or being reasonable?

So, shouting platitudes is promoting quality of candidates, but actually working toward reasonable solutions is detrimental to a candidates' quality? That's how we got Trump.

WTF is going on with you? This is alarming.

My apologies for being logical and rational. What is it we’re supposed to say? “Progressivism uber alles. Down with the moderate white man!”? Did I do it? Will that keep me out of trouble?

You dont know anything about CK i would say... Just the lies the left spreads....
Or the clips and videos I watched of him while formulating my opinion of him. I’d say I saw enough to be fully informed. Perhaps the reverse is true of you? If you only got information about him from TACO’s Fox News staffing agency, your perspective is probably skewed.

Oh, dang. Well, I'll have to keep working on figuring it out, Willy.

So we're all in agreement that far left progressivism sucks almost as much/as much as the MAGAt movement? Or no? Or we hate the moderate white man? Being edgy is hard.

Yeah, I'm the edgy one in this interaction. Good call HotTopic.

I look forward to your next batch of unrelated assumptions, defensive posturing and usage of the royal 'we'.

"We" = you, me and the rest of the ultra-progressives who don't have the time or willingness to get bogged down in political details as we choose sides and shout empty platitudes. Are we royals now? Royal bros. But I thought we hated the bourgeoisie and the ruling class? Being edgy is still hard!

Speaking of details, can you provide some examples of "far left progressive extremism?"

From what I can gather, it's whatever I do, or don't do. Either way there aren't enough specifics to satisfy the many that are Moog.

Hope that helps!

I wasn't addressing you.

Strange misstep for someone with such high expectations for granular detail.

I wasn't addressing you when you initially swooped in with your wrong-minded yet nebulous commentary about mindsets, which started this exchange. Not a strange misstep for someone who messed up the initial volley, and hasn't recovered since ... and is apparently so traumatized by the suggestion that his political movement be expected to provided anything more granular than "we just want xanadu! no baddies welcome, you must submit or be shunned!" that he barrels forward, continuing an unwanted, unsolicited exchange indefinitely.

Clips taken out of context to make it look bad, but when you include the context it has a whole different meaning???

Why do you continue if you don't want to?

At this point, for me, my engagement is like being invested in the later seasons of Game of Thrones enough to know it's gotten ludicrous and schlocky, but am still engaged enough to tune in to see what lazy and disjointed thing the writers try to pull off next.

I have a near-morbid curiosity and want to see if you'll eventually make sense. I'm also holding out a tiny sliver of hope that you'll come around, and start speaking on the merits or, perhaps, someone else will chime in, like you did, but they'll actually speak substantively and a worthwhile exchange can ensue.

I would add

Lost two very winnable elections to TRUMP

View attachment 1359481

Progressive extremists' fault for scaring away the "evil" moderates/independents.

How, exactly, are you going to win anything when you're chopping even more folks from the potential voting bloc?

Again, this is MAGAt strategy. Hope your extremism strong-arms otherwise reasonable people to submit to your will. As someone else said - two sides, same coin.

Nope. Clips that supported far right, Christian nationalist views that were not very tolerant, socially.

Sure ... tell me the details of how you plan to implement your core beliefs if you take political power.
I do not plan to implement my core beliefs through public policy, as I have no desire to run for political office. I certainly have no plan or intention to “take political power.”

I am still curious what extremist beliefs you believe that I have as a far left, liberal progressive.

Don't evade ... I was speaking to the royal "you." What detailed plans do you wish to see implemented if the progressives (your ideological brethren) take political power (enough to enact laws, enforce laws and interpret laws)?

I am not evading anything. I don’t have any detailed plans that I wish to see implemented. What extremist beliefs do you attribute to me?

None. If you don't have any detailed plans of anything you wish to see implemented, then you're politically devoid of substance, and not a progressive (or any ideology) at all.

This is a nonsensical attribution. I am certainly progressive and liberal in my ideology. I am not a politician. What extremist beliefs do you ascribe to me?

Your assertion is that your political ideology is progressive and liberal, but you don’t want to see anything changed via government action to reflect these beliefs. So that’s what I ascribe to you - nothing.

like the left is tolerant of opposing views lulz. Kirk wasnt wanting people that had a different view dead like the left does. Charlie was all for debate and good faith discussions on topics. The left has to lie and demonize those that have a different point of view. You have to lie about Kirk to try and justify his murder by the left. MLK was a Christian nationalist. You act as if thats a bad thing.

Don’t care about whataboutism. Not how this started. Kirk was not a tolerant individual, socially, full stop. He “debated” by speaking over people.

Christian nationalism is a bad thing if you believe in a separation of church and state. Or believe in a woman’s right to choose. Or believe that men and women are equal. You know, things like that. Christian nationalism is also very close to the “Positive Christianity” ideology which wasn’t great.

I believe these types of discussions are useful for the Democratic party.
Big tent as opposed to the trump- cult GOP,right?

I still think that cobbling together the kind of winning coalition to stop trump is priority # 1.

That means tailoring the message to each district/state while maintaining the traditional democratic posture on national issues

In Iowa, the main local issues:

1. Economy, especially agricultural economy....free trader state...not exactly a traditional democratic stance but for an exporting state it is popular.

2.Environment....water quality. Farmers dismiss this problem but there are less than 100k farmers ,so the majority of voters are concerned.

These are iowa-centric issues, not NYC or cali.

That is why Iowa Dems are running moderates like rob sand and josh Turek.

Abolishing ICE. , defunding police , type of rhetoric does not sell for Dems/ indys in Iowa.

In the end this is still about naked political power to get at least one chamber in Congress to combat trump.
In 2028 , we can have the full blown intra-party squabble as we choose a candidate.
3. Cultural issues cut against Democrats here....stay clear of it beyond insisting on fair and equal treatment of all citizens

4. Education...very expensive voucher program is not popular...rural communities are shut out w no options so need to use it there, politically.

This poll makes no sense. Dems need to move to the center but we also really like socialism?
Just opened this but the question "move to the center" doesn't give you a starting point, does it? Those who think the party is too conservative would favor a move to the center as an improvement, wouldn't they?

Idiotic sayings from the same people who told us first, if you DON’T drive a Tesla you hate the earth, then if you DO drive a Tesla you hate America, and if you eat a chicken sandwich from Chick Fil A, or shop at Target, you hate gays. That crop of idiots. Leftists. The “Jim Crow 2.0” morons.
Like the folks who lost their minds over Bud Light going "gay" and freaking out over inclusivity, right?
