Which 3 do you think will be future NBA players? Not saying there can’t be 3 such players, but the odds are against it for every player on this roster.
I agree that nobody has a better than 50% shot at making an NBA roster so I agree completely.

Just for fun:
Francis 20% … lacks size but doesn’t lack much else as a guard. Very crafty and may surprise and land in the NBA.
Lino Mark…is still very young but improving by leaps, drives and bounds every month. I’ll say 20% chance right now but on the upswing. He lacks size but his quickness is truly elite and his game is starting to round out. If his court awareness and trust in his teammates improve a little more he could be an absolute assist machine.
Garavaglia…Still very young and not much shown against good competition but decent size, stroke and athleticism so I say 10% right now but also trending up.

OK…I’m ready for some abuse.

I love Tariq. But he’s not going to the NBA. Just not fast enough.

Crafty gets him a slight (thus the 20%) chance. He’s smallish and not freaky athletic but some guys just figure out a way. His shooting may improve to a Steph Curry type level so you never know.🤷‍♂️
Plus a guy can produce in college at an NBA caliber player level and never make the NBA since college isn’t the NBA. The list of great, winning and productive college players who never played in the NBA is long. Perhaps that’s who Tariq can become.

Pike will have a lot of options. Smith can handle the rock and distribute. Jones has handling skills too. So he’ll be much better positioned this year to play Tariq for stretches without a PG if/when he wants to. Rotations at the point could be match up dependent.

Development is certainly possible in the offseason for Powers but he has a lot of work to do on the defensive end IMO to prove himself to earn time at the 3 - especially at rebounding where his per minute numbers were awful for a wing / SF. Rebounds per minute is a metric that does tend to transfer reasonably well for low to high major. We need to be a better rebounding team. I’m not sure that playing a 6-4 guard who struggled on D and with rebounding is going to be the answer. I guess it will depend on his development.
I think Powers could see some point in two years.

There’s no point thinking about 2 years down the road with the transfer portal. To earn time this coming season, Kaden will have to substantially improve his defense. Lots of guys make big jumps after their frosh season so it’s certainly possible, but that’s his biggest obstacle - he’s not going to be playing the 1 next season. His D was the worst among the returning guards despite his height, and he’ll have a long way to go to close the gap on all of them except Tariq who plays for his offense. We’ve also added two 6-6 players in Jones and Diego who project to be significantly better on defense than he was last season.
