I'm not arguing either way but I think he has some poignant comments, especially this one.

"Because when you shove a country too far into cruelty, the pendulum doesn't politely return to the center. It comes back like a brick through a fvkking window."

He says he doesn't want communism or socialism, he describes it as Capitalism with guardrails. And I get it after seeing this administration ruling with fear and mostly enacting policies that only help the billionaire class, while the middle and lower classes are getting nothing but subtraction. There will be a boomerang and it may even go too far but that's what happens when you ignore the majority of the population and focus on your own enrichment and others in your lofty class.
Bingo! I've touted the 'I'm a registered Republican/conservative card' ad nauseam to the damage Trump is doing. MAGA digs their heels in further. Pound your head into a wall and you will make more progress.

Idiotic sayings from the same people who told us first, if you DON’T drive a Tesla you hate the earth, then if you DO drive a Tesla you hate America, and if you eat a chicken sandwich from Chick Fil A, or shop at Target, you hate gays. That crop of idiots. Leftists. The “Jim Crow 2.0” morons.
Or if you drink Bud light you support the gays?

I’m all for a radical shift in the party. Move more left, and jettison the corporate sycophants. They’re just republican lite at this point.

Maga is a fascist movement. It uses fear to gather votes to get the votes to enact the will of the oligarchs. Magas claim to be America first are okay with whatever war Trump wants or any other action. Maga pretends to care about child sex trafficking, and even virtue signalled by buying tickets for other people to go to Sound of Freedom, however, when the Trump administration breaks the law daily by not releasing the rest of the Epstein files his maga base doesn't seem to care.

Maga had an oligarch gathering for the inauguration where one of the oligarchs tossed up a Nazi salute. Magas don't care when Trump tears down a third of the WH. Magas don't care when the president runs a crypto rugpull. Magas don't care that Trump made 1.5 billion in crypto scams in 2025. Magas don't care when the reflecting pool gets ruined by a no bid government contract. Magas are gleeful to watch the UFC on WH grounds.

Progressives want people to have healthcare, paid maternity leave, and don't want to pay for Israel to genocide Gaza or bomb random towns in Lebanon.

Totally the same.
Post of the year territory right here.

Imagine putting Romney up against someone like Joe Manchin, and saying there's a big difference.

There is a difference,.. I'd say that Romney and Manchin both played on the opposition's side of the field.

Your little cult brain just cant wrap your head around politics isnt black and white, its not one side or the other. Depending on which political test i take I grade between moderate-left and moderate-right. I tend to lean right on economic and foreign policy and lean left on many social issues. If you are moderate there will be things that you both agree with and disagree with on both sides. If you cant agree with a side on anything then you are far from moderate, you are a partisan actor. There are many issues both sides agree with but wont admit it. The establishment wont tout the things we all agree on, but rather hyperfocus on those issues that divide us... Who cant tell Im MAGA all the way btw lulz

Sorry but Sirota is so full of himself as the shining purist I barely take note after his 20 years of sniping from the cheap seats.

On his comment: I have heard the demo political pundit class anguish over how to find a Maine candidate who can campaign authentically with planters message for 5 days now.

Sirota gaslights with these types of snide shots at the very media in which he has constructed a career as a member.

F the Clintons. Hillary is among the top 3 people most responsible for Cheeto becoming president in 2016

The Clintonites have spent a quarter century trying to purge the Dem Party of anyone to the left of a Wall Street CEO. No guilt-by-association tactic is too grotesque for them. They maximize every unrelated scandal as an opportunity to try to expand their purge (see the below effort to use the Platner debacle to try to smear El-Sayed) — and they are typically assisted by a worshipful pundit class and backed by a lot of money.

Their ruthlessness is formidable & their sociopathy makes me unsure of whether they can be stopped. Having scars of my own from 30 years in work against their corporatism, hear me when I say that you underestimate them at your peril.

I find this very hard to believe with Charlie Kirk as your avatar. He was no where close to the middle on social issues.

Nonsense. You have to offer tortured examples of crazies on the left - mostly made up or greatly exaggerated - for that to have any semblance to the truth.

It's no stretch to find awful and nutty people on the right. It is on the left.

Is wanting good health care for all crazy?

Is recognizing that climate change is a looming crisis crazy?

Is thinking American children deserve a world class public education system crazy?

Obviously I could keep listing important things the left supports and MAGAs fight against.

The frightening thing about progressives is that they're defending themselves with these overly-broad platitudes ... much like the far right extremists ... much like Republicans used to do with their "we just believe in the Constitution" rationales for excusing away their views.

MAGAts will tell you that they also want a "world class public education system" ... that's a meaningless platitude. What matters is what gets us there, or what we do to attempt to get us there. MAGAts might think that less federal meddling into public education will be the way to get us to world class system ... cutting costs, cutting out "unnecessary" programs and refocusing on certain core learning ... progressives may think more federal meddling and higher taxes, and higher pay, expanded programs, and ... so on ... will be the way to get us there.

And that's worrisome that progressives are taking this avenue, because it's an obvious attempt to cover-up extremism (just as the right has done).

We need the actual ideas put forth, so we can decide on the merits. We don't need the posturing and scare tactics of either extreme manipulating voters.

Which mindset? The extremist nuts? Very, very poorly. That's the point.

No, waiting for a better system to fall from the sky or focusing on soundbites and TikTok length snapshots.

Both major parties have spelled out their "ideas", we as an electorate are just too lazy to read them or take them seriously. I know it probably feels good to think there is reason and good ideas waiting to spring out of the silent moderate center, but the reality is those are the people that drove the car to where we're currently parked.

50 years of the same **** isn't going to result in better outcomes.

Oh, so you're arguing for change for change's sake. Well, that's absolutely stupid. "Hey, you've had the sniffles for 2 months, so let's chop off your head and see if that helps. Wut? It's something different! Obviously the way we were doing it before wasn't working!"

Brilliant.

There's not much to discuss if that's the attitude. There won't be reason or logic. That's actually how we got Trump ... "oh, I don't like things ... they're not working ... we need a change ... hey, how about we bring in this incompetent, corrupt idiotic excuse for a human being, and then slap a slogan on him that we're going to make America great again ... I mean ... what's wrong with wanting to make America great again?" Now the progressives say "well, now it's our turn to go full retard! We just want world class public education!"

Not to mention, this had absolutely NOTHING to do with what I said, previously. I was, quite clearly, referencing the utilization of platitudes to hide agendas, and the need to actually dig into the merits of underlying ideas, rather than state platitudes.

Im advocating for people to stop worrying so much about campaigning and start voting for people with integrity and halfway decent ideas. Im advocating for everyone that has ever voted for a Republican to take their f@cking party back from the lunatic religious nationalists. I'm also advocating for people to rejecting using the immense force of the federal government to stop people from living a lifestyle that's goofy.

Not once have I advocated for change "for it's own sake". Just that hoping for better while allowing the system to be broken from the inside is clearly not working for the average person.

This whole country is being robbed blind as we allow idiots to convince us that perfect is the enemy of good. But, by all means worry about the shallow messaging, it's worked so far.

Right ... without specifying what would be change for the better, saying "this isn't working, so we need a change" is advocating for change for change's sake.

Again, with the sarcastic "it's worked so far" nonsense. What are you talking about?

The "shallow messaging" is what allowed MAGA to rise. The "shallow messaging" appears to be what progressives are utilizing now. It's not good. In fact, it's awful. Because we have no idea what they actually plan to do, and THAT'S what's important.

You seem to be grandstanding, and presenting shallow messaging yourself ... like a MAGAt. So, the system is broken, and you want to fix it ... you want to ... make America great again? How? Drain the swamp? "Fix healthcare"?

HOW are we actually "fixing" things?

Issue is the far left wont allow itself to agree with anything on the right. More focus should be put on things we do agree on and less on the things we dont. But the hyper-focus is on the differences between the two sides. Also that focus on identity politics by the left has destroyed this...

I am doing my part by pointing out when idiots that think they have no role in where we are start acting like amatuer political commentators and challenging those that love to thump their chests about not taking part in the process is virtuous. The plans you're looking for are usually on the websites of the candidates you haven't named.

It's fun that you keep, wrongly, interpreting what I'm saying as if Im trying to sneak something past you and then called me maga. I'm not.

There are way too many people with bad intentions at the wheel absolutely primed to take advantage of this bullsh!t "everyone is crazy and incompetent" facebiting mindset that is running rampant through white maledom in America. It's obnoxious, amd mostly dishonest.

You're just speaking nebulously ... sort of in English, but not quite ... so it's quite difficult to determine what you're saying. You seem to be speaking on something that I'm not talking about ... as has been the case since you chimed in, originally.

Again, we don't need progressives speaking in platitudes, "hiding" what they actually plan to do. Just like we didn't need MAGA to do it. That's it.

Whatever else you're yapping about has nothing to do with anything I said. No one called you MAGA. You seem to be the one having trouble understanding what's been written.

Even though I didn't begin our exchange, I want to give you a final shot to salvage yourself here ...

Again, my original point was that, saying things like "we're for world class public education - what's wrong with that?" is an example of an empty statement, because whether or not someone would agree with your stance or not depends entirely on how you choose to attempt to achieve that. Also, that those types of statements are what was utilized by MAGA to take power, and then they delivered awfulness ... so let's focus on what the actual suggested fixes are, rather than meaningless platitudes.

That's it.

Your initial response was "how has that mindset worked out for us the last 20 years?" Then you started to bash the moderates, and said only that we need something different. Then claimed you weren't arguing for change for the sake of change. Then were talking about bad guys and bashing white maledom, while falsely accusing me of calling you MAGA.

And here we are.

So, do you have anything relevant to say about my initial point?

Angry and unoriginal, cool. It's too bad, you seemed okay for the last few months.

Best of luck with whatever you're going through.

Huh? It was an honest question, because you seem to be speaking to things I'm not saying ... from the very start ... and then you aren't really articulating your thoughts into anything meaningful, and you're falsely accusing me of saying things I didn't say. So, it's a legitimate question, to possibly help explain our disconnect.

I am a far left, liberal progressive who has voted for Gavin Newsom (twice), Kamala Harris (three times), despite thinking that they are more moderate than I would prefer. And yet, nothing attributed by posters in this thread to far left, liberal progressive like me has been accurate thus far.

MAGAt populism was, and still is, bad. Progressivism, generally, or a particular progressive candidate, could be just as bad, or worse ... or better. The devil is in the details. And a generic statement about what you're "for" isn't going to help anyone determine if that ideology, or particular candidate, is the correct one, for them.

If you have a problem with white males and/or moderates, that's something you have to deal with and overcome. As for me, I'll be waiting for candidates who lay out good ideas, properly fleshed out, and encouraging folks to turn away from the extremism at both ends. And if your preferred candidates put forth bad ideas, or vague ideas, and don't garner the support necessary to win, that's on them.

Self-described moderate white males just happen to be the demo that I have witnessed bragging about rejecting "all sides" and in the process paved the way for a populist @SS to be our POTUS while waiting impatiently to be recruited by someone close to their personal idea of perfect. If you want to take that as literally as you can, go for it. Tonight has drained any desire I might ever have had to help you understand my opinions

The rest of your stuff goes without saying dawg. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I have no interest in discussing campaign strategy. That is for political strategists, pundits and folks caught up in 24 hours news cycles and podcasts centered around complaining, and as I was attempting to get across to you before is something I think has been detrimental to the quality of candidates in politics.

That's what you want to hear, to make yourself feel better. The reality is, it's about rejecting extremism. There are "sides" that don't involve extremists. And, from topic to topic, you can be on different "sides."

and in the process paved the way for a populist @SS to be our POTUS while waiting impatiently to be recruited by someone close to their personal idea of perfect.

Right. It's someone else's fault you suck. It's not your fault for being bad at this, and going crazy with extremist progressive views, and turning people off from your "side" or your candidates ... it's someone else's fault for trying to be reasonable and, in doing so, not letting you get your way. Why not just talk to fellow extremists, and get them to calm the eff down, come back to reality, and join forces with the moderates in promoting an imperfect candidate that appeases the middle, as well? You did a crappy job of crafting your message and recruiting ... and it's not your fault, of course. Again, it's just like the "party of personal responsibility and accountability" (aka what used to be the Republicans, and is now the MAGAts) ... nothing's their fault, either. It's time to start acting like an adult. Give it a try.

No, you don't want to discuss the merits of topics, and actually work toward solutions ... you want to rage and blame place. Feel better now? Got it all out? It's totally not your fault ... now how are you going to fix yourself so as to prevent MAGAt from rising up again and spreading its hate and incompetence? By being a spoiled brat who isn't at fault because folks weren't excited to sign off on your extremist ideals? Or being reasonable?

So, shouting platitudes is promoting quality of candidates, but actually working toward reasonable solutions is detrimental to a candidates' quality? That's how we got Trump.
