After a quick review, the most interesting thing to me is that Moulton and LJ Phillips with the exact same. I wonder if Phillips either toned up or if his weight was exaggerated? Molten clearly added some muscle.
Where do you see this ?
d line. Need a surprise there.
Thanks for the Link!
Just that I've been thinking the same thing. He probably won't start but should get some game experience that will help in the future.I noticed that Fitzgibbon has added a lot. What I keep hearing about him is that he is probably a year away from contributing. It sort of seems like with our DL situation and the acute need there, that he could see the field sooner.
thoughts, anyone?
I think Phillips is only like 5"7" so he's a bowling ball at 220 or so....After a quick review, the most interesting thing to me is that Moulton and LJ Phillips with the exact same. I wonder if Phillips either toned up or if his weight was exaggerated? Molten clearly added some muscle.
You'd pretty much have to rate Iowa there at QB because we just don't know much about either or who ends up starting. The DL will be interesting. The transfer from N Dakota, Olagbaju is listed at 6'2" and 314. He's built like a brick shi- house. He's massive. May very well join a top 4 group inside of Hawthorne, Stephenson, Kennedy, Fitzgibbons, Max BJ, and Hubert who was a walkon, but he played a lot last year. If they can hold their gaps, we have very athletic group of LB's ready to emerge. Also think we have some studs on the edge and at DB. Games 4-6 will be very interesting for sure.Must be one of the smallest interior defensive lines in the conference. It doesn’t get me warm and fuzzy about that tough early three game stretch. One can hope the offense can pick up the slack but QB could be a problem. Docterman in a recent podcast ranked Iowa last in the conference at the QB position.
I have heard the back seven is solid but the d-line is a huge question mark. I think d-tackle is the biggest question, there's talent on the edge. Epenesa needs a big jump up. Merriweather should be solid, we'll need Anderson and Cheneki (sp?) to step up. Kennedy is up to 288, probably a year away. You'd pretty much have to rate Iowa there at QB because we just don't know much about either or who ends up starting. The DL will be interesting.
