Pope was EXTREMELY lucky Milan decided to withdraw from the draft and come here. That’s not going to happen every year. The fact of the matter is that he’s a bad recruiter. Guys like Zoom, Wilkins, McBride, etc. would come here no matter who the coach was. How many more reports are going to come out, portal and high school alike, that these guys are using UK to get a pay raise just to go to the school they want? Pope keeps letting this happen and it’s sad. He’s on year 3 and his recruiting has not gotten better. His roster his 1st year was by far his best (injuries screwed him from at least and elite 8) but that was because the hype of a new coach. He’s just a weird guy to recruits and idk if he will ever overcome that.

I believe this will be his best roster by far.
