DOES ANYONE ON THIS SITE STILL THINK DOGE WAS A SUCCESS?

I see that Trump recently claimed he had nothing to do with it. That is usually a sign of complete failure.

- They saved a fraction of what they intended
- They failed to send anyone the promised checks
- They have had to hire back most of the people they fired.
- They stole millions of Americans' personal data.
- They caused the deaths of thousands of children.

No wonder Trump wants no part of it.

DOGE cost far more than it "saved". The purpose of DOGE was to give them access to govt data that they could loot. In that sense, it was a resounding success.

Meanwhile, the national debt continues to chug along full steam ahead.

Trump already secured his place as the worst POTUS in history a long time ago. At this point, the only question left is how much more material will be added for historians to write about. The fact millions of dumb@ss Americans never wavered in their worship of the Marmalade Moron should be a bulk of the story.

And even worse, the very necessary work to streamline government, reduce waste and cut the budget has now lost all momentum due to the stupidity of how they did it.

There was a right way and the stupid way…we chose the stupid way and now no one wants to do it the right way.

Closing USAID is a win on its own. So yes, doge was a success.

Congress not doing their job (per usual) and codifying doge cuts into law is an L. There is much more work that needs to be done.
Only if you're a soulless right-wing zealot who devalues life and is only concerned that a lib somewhere might benefit, says the pro-life party troll.

Models tracking the global impact of the USAID shutdown estimate that hundreds of thousands to over 1 million people have died as a direct result of halted aid.

The Center for Global Development estimates that decreased funding could result in 500,000 to 1.6 million excess deaths annually if spending trends remain reduced.

Modeled Causes of Death
The abrupt termination of U.S.-backed contracts and grants caused widespread disruptions in therapeutics and clinical access. The primary drivers of this projected mortality include: [1]
  • Severe Malnutrition: A massive increase in child starvation due to the abrupt end of therapeutic food programs. [1]
  • Malaria & Pneumonia: Spikes in fatalities caused by the halt of medical supplies, mosquito bed net distributions, and preventative treatment in developing nations. [1, 2]
  • HIV/AIDS & Tuberculosis: Disrupted supply chains forced HIV/AIDS clinics across sub-Saharan Africa to close within days of receiving "work stop" notices. [1, 2]
Future Mortality Projections
Public health experts warned of a much broader long-term human toll. A landmark study published in The Lancet estimated that if the USAID defunding persists, upwards of 14 million preventable deaths could occur globally by 2030, including 4.5 million children under the age of five. Data models from ImpactCounter—tracking the real-time effect of the cuts—calculate that child deaths are occurring at a rate of one every 40 seconds in the affected regions. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

couple of things...DOGE as it was originally billed was a failure....they started at the wrong place....they began with government agencies at the front end of the process. ..they should have started where the money actually ends up...like learing centers or places that hand out the college checks or snap or welfare checks...finally, there were able to point out, not that it was a secret for anyone who has ever worked in government, that government financial systems are decades behind the times...computer systems with antiquated software, entire systems which don't "talk" to one another etc.

Weird way to say that they hacked into some government systems.

Well, I don't know anything about hacked, but it wouldn't, or doesn't, take a genius to ask why someone receiving benefits from dept of agriculture, responsibly for SNAP, is giving benefits to someone filing a tax return with $100k of taxable income (Just picked a number out of the air), all you have to do is crosscheck data.

And, I admit that I don't know, but if you're empowered to deal with issues like this, is it not legal to "hack" your own systems?

if you want to tackle govt spending...social security, medicare - that's where you go

"learing centers" or college financial aid or "welfare" is just picking around the edges

I know better than to get into a back and forth with people like you, who will bend over backwards attempting to defend their side. So here's reading for you. Take it or leave it (We all know you won't read it) but don't say I didn't try to educate you. Hope you have a great weekend!

If you really believe that, why not get rid of the parts you don't like and keep the parts that save lives? This is why we hate Elon and MAGA. Nothing matters except harming the libs. I hope we get to give you a taste of your own medicine.

Usaid was a cancer. I fully support it being turned to dust and scattered in the wind. No part of it needs to remain despite the lies you tell about it.

Millions of lives Scrubby.

You've been brainwashed.

You're in a cult.
USAID funded Osama Bin Laden's Mujahideen, which spawned Al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban. So did USAID supporters cause 4.7 million deaths in the Global War on Terror while murdering 35,000 people in terrorist attacks after causing 9/11?
And statements like this are just stupid. I enjoy healthy debate, but this is just dumb

I'm so sorry that Africa disagrees with you both.

people like me?? I don't bend over backward....was there a question mark after my comment about hacking???

I did read the articles, and what I read is that people who don't particularly like the operations of DOGE expressed concerned or filed a whistle blower complaint, or others who were fired from their jobs...I don't discount that they think something was/is wrong, but that doesn't mean they're right. They have every right to express their opinions. But I would submit for your consideration that actions that "might" cause a breach is hardly definitive proof.

I come back to my basic question which was not answered in the articles...DOGE was an organization set up by the President and given instructions...The computer systems are not the property of the people working in agencies, they are the property of the US government. So is it illegal to access or hack your own systems.

On Social Security, Numbers have exposed or breached multiple times prior to DOGE. I know because my SSAN has been breached at least once....

And, no matter if you want to admit it or not, one of the positive things DOGE did was to point out the ineffective financial management capabilities of our government agencies. "guy's like you" (sorry couldn't resist) complain about the DoD not passing an audit...that's only one agency, look at the others being found as victims of fraud they had no idea was happening. I don't think you would argue that these agencies are effectively managed.

Thanks, off to Virginia, you have a great weekend also

It's fun being a heartless POS!
No comment on USAID funding al-queda, isis and the taliban then? I guess I shouldn't be surprised since you voted for the president who gave billions of dollars in military grade weapons/equipment to them when he failed at withdrawing from Afghanistan.

I had to look in case anyone is interested. Mike Benz was a speechwriter for Ben Carson and Stephen Miller.
A great patriot helping two other patriots. What else you got? Guessing not a comment on usaid financing al-queda and isis?
