And with the new five-year rule, they can all be back next season.
That is of no advantage to PSU as the rule can be used by everyone. It's like those who insist the process is about acquiring proven talent in the portal. Everyone shops in the portal. Those who "retain" and recruit at elite levels, have fewer holes to fill in the portal and can compete for the elite playmakers available.
All of PSU's current recruiting setbacks can easily be explained away individually. No question. However, collectively, you'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to be concerned.

I recently put several people on Ignore. That decision is reinforced on a daily basis, as I can still see WHEN they post but not WHAT they post — and nearly all of their posts are followed by others criticizing them for the very reasons I chose Ignore in the first place. To those not using the function: Try it, you’ll like it!

THAT statement is the issue. We don’t hate the team you idiot.
We LOVE the team and that is why we are concerned.
Don’t you get it? Some people don’t think the team is better this moment than it WAS.

You can’t put lipstick on a pig and don’t piss on my back and tell me it’s raining. We’re a Becht injury away from winning four games this year.

It’s interesting…I think it might be the opposite…Your psychology is so flakey and notable…I wouldn’t be surprised if YOU were rooting against us last year praying for Franklin to fail. Cheering for his demise like a sicko.

You are gas lighting. Keep digging yourself a bigger hole. Come on-do it. More dumb replies will help, right? Say something. I know the truth because I’ve experienced sociopathic creeps like you before.

Lol “WE love the team…” do you have multiple personality disorder? Why are you creating so many different handles? I thought it was because so many people ignored you it was the only way to weasel your way back into the conversation, but now I’m thinking you actually believe you’re multiple people. Go get help.

Just a reminder to those who keep asking the question....."Are we better?" The new product will roll off the assembly line on September 5th. We can all judge how good the product is at that time. Any judgement of the product now is simply premature or foolish.
Usually a new HC gets a year or two to cut his teeth.....but now it's spring ball and 6-7 months with no games played. Makes sense. The best is watching Marshall do this as he cried for years if anyone dared to question JF. Biggest hypocrite ever on this site.

Yea. That is pretty thin. After Hansen it is a big question mark. Not sure martin is even a RB. I think I read he was tested at other positions in spring.

Psu is two injuries away from needing Gibson.
I beg to differ regarding Martin. Martin was one of the nation's top running back recruits coming out of Belle Vernon High School in Pennsylvania. Since arriving at Penn State, he's added muscle and has bulked up to around 211–212 pounds, which coaches have said has improved his physical running style while maintaining his speed. At 6'1", 212 pounds, he has excellent size for a Big Ten running back, combining a sturdy frame with the athleticism to be an every-down back. Martin is going to open some eyes this season.

He had 2 multi year NFL starters in front of him and in limited snaps you could see there is potential there.

I also agree with the sentiment that we're looking really good at RB - Hansen + Martin and not mentioned yet the transfer Peoples-Jones from OSU. He's been getting rave reviews in the spring and summer because he's an athletic freak.

ON3 just did an interview with Taylor Mouser and he said the OL is one of the most talented he's seen. Throw in those two big TEs with this stable of backs, we're going to try and ground and pound everyone.

We can always just take two backs in '28 if we need to even out the room after this season. Maybe even hit the portal again.

When I look at the current roster of RBs, the one weakness is a lack of game-breaking speed. None of current RBs are threats to take it to the house type backs. They all look to be solid to very good RBs, but not great.

Martin will have an opportunity to prove whether or not he is a legitimate B1G RB. The jury is still out on him.

I think the coaching staff recognizes the lack of RB speed weakness which is why they recruited Kemon Spell (Georgia commit) and David Segarra (LSU commit). Those guys are real difference makers with explosive speed.

For 2026, I think Penn State will just grind it out with the current RBs which may be good enough.

I thought both Peoples-Jones and Martin had very good speed. More than Kaytron Allen but less straight line speed than Nick Singleton.

I don't have an issue with have a stable full of "Tony!..Tony!" Hunt, Franco Harris, Zack Zwinack, Kaytron Allen or Aaron Harris type backs.
