Surprised this doesn't appear to have a thread just yet. The trial for trans furry lover Tyler Robinson does not seem to be going well for the defense. The evidence pretty much confirms what we already knew (that a far left LGBT extremist took democrat hatred and intolerance to its end point).

Personally I am hoping for the death penalty here

Dems don’t eat their own …. See Platner.
Half the freaks on this board are secretly hoping that piece of trans loving shitte gets the minimum
Actually not, JinxyPat. I can't speak for my fellow liberals, but I likely depart from a lot of them in terms of my views on crime and punishment. I am a supporter of the death penalty, and of streamlining the process so that people who deserve the needle get the needle. (Imagine that, A liberal attorney from the Bay Area favoring the death penalty.) I want this particular guy imprisoned for a lengthy term, assuming he is found guilty.

The only silver lining of his getting a short sentence or getting off entirely would be watching the posts from people like Scrubby, MTT, and perhaps you, in the wake of your heads exploding.

Interesting that you are pro death penalty. Didn't see that one coming.

I wonder if the prosecution is putting out all this at an evidentiary hearing with hope that Robinson will see the writing on the wall, and just plead guilty. Would save his parents a load of money

We should execute those who commit premeditated murder—tampon or no tampon.
Probably a discussion for a different thread, but I'm no longer pro-death penalty. I'm still trying to figure out if I've changed due to morality issues (emotions) or the fact I don't fully trust our judicial system (logic). I've seen too many stories where a person was wrongly convicted get the death penalty.

That said, emotionally, I agree with you...same as when a child rapist gets the chair (hard to argue that one).

I never understood the incredible hate the left had for Charlie Kirk. I understand that they didn't agree with his Christian pro life positions but I never saw him promote violence or spew hate. He allowed people with different options to engage in civil debate.
Probably because he was effective and he was invading the college campus, somewhere the left has had a stronghold for a long time?

When it comes to premeditated murder beyond a reasonable doubt, I believe capital punishment is appropriate. Again, I emphasize premeditated. If murder is done in cold blood and without extenuating circumstances (i.e., a father finds the guy who molested his child and kills him), then I don’t believe emotion is driving the punishment, logic is.

Premeditated murder of this kind (assassinating Charlie Kirk) that is motivated by not liking someone because they are exercising their first amendment rights qualifies for capital punishment IMO when guilt is clear and obvious and determined without prejudice.

If all of the aforementioned criteria are met, the person who is truly “innocent” has several years of appeals to prove their “innocence” before the sentence is actually carried out.

I can get on board w/ that. Thanks for the clarity.

On average, I probably agreed with Charlie Kirk slightly over 50% of the time.

Charlie Kirk was boring because he debated Homo sapiens whose brains had yet to fully develop. Whenever he would venture beyond a venue reinforcing the paradigm of “youth being wasted on the young,” he frequently got cooked in debates (usually because Kirk couldn’t help but bring indefensible Christian theology into the conversation).

And I believe that you truly believe that.
If I hate Charlie Kirk, I can find a dozen videos showing him spewing hate, talking over people and being a bully (they're out there).
If I love Charlie Kirk, I can find a dozen videos showing him demonstrating compassion, allowing others their turn at the mic, and being humble. (they're out there).

Charlie was controversial and his debating style changed over the years. Like him or hate him, he did NOT deserve to be assisinated. If you don't like what he says, challenge him or ignore him. No different than turning off the channel. What I really find interesting is how many people had no clue who he was the day he was killed. I remember seeing the thread wondering who is Charlie Kirk?? When I looked him up I said to myself, "Oh! That dude who debates people on College Campuses. I've seen him."

Personnally, I never cared for his style. I prefer Cliff Knechtle. He always allows others to speak.

I think he made a connection to the youth that other republicans in the party were having a hard time connecting with. He was active on social media etc. My kids told me about him before i ever knew about him. He was making progress on their home turf and thats at least a part of the reason for the hatred imo.

Gen Z is chock full of idiots with no emotional intelligence whatsoever.

Attacking American Jews over Bibi’s policies is next-level insane. White knighting for religious zealots whose beliefs are antithetical to everything liberals are supposed to stand for is even more so.

I agree with you on all of this.

With that said, Knechtle gets pretty rattled when debating someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. But, in his defense, at least he isn’t Kent Hovind. That guy is a colossal tool and an absolute moron.

Idk man, I’m getting real tired of seeing bad, rich and powerful people get away with bull.****. This president and his administration are nothing short of a corruption filled circus who clearly only care about themselves.

look at that CEO for United Healthcare. What happened to him wasn’t ok but did things change for the better? Ya. These rich and powerful should all recognize there is a target on their back.

the same people who are still upset about obama's "clinging to guns and bibles" and hillary's "deplorable" comments can't possibly fathom why anyone would think charlie kirk would be considered anything but a wonderful truth teller

it's a different reality
It is. And you're the bad guys.

Which is why it's so important to not stoop, maintain character and rise above. Many disagree with me, but that's just how it goes.

Lol he already has. He will not hesitate to let you know how virtuous and tolerant he is though. He actually believes his hatred is justified.

He didn't, though. He spewed hate and he played the game of pretending to be reasonable, but always having the rhetorical game rigged in his favor ... he was a con man/show man, trying to dupe youngsters with his side show.

That said, whoever killed him should either get the death penalty (if applicable) or serve out the remainder of their life in prison.

But THAT said ...
