Such a miserable season, we were lucky we played so many awful teams that year. I'd rather lose competitively than be obliterated. So would anyone else with an IQ above refrigerator temp. The players, coaches, and especially fans deserve better than 3 games losing 92-0. Luckily the University felt the same and kicked Brian to the curb, so it feels great to be right! Can't imagine being retarded enough to justify Brian's performance :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You must not live in the United States then, or you maybe never heard of people like Alex Pretti or Renee Good, US citizens murdered in broad daylight by masked government thugs. Despite both murders being caught on video, many months later, no one has been charged with either murder. You might be safer in North Korea.
Someone got an early start on the hooch...

i'm at exactly 60mins in the vid right now and honest to god i wouldn't be surprised if we are in the top-3 of b1g offensively this year. the entire segment about qbs (probably started about the 50min mark) for our system is crazy exciting. on the flip side i'm really puzzled the guy would talk so openly about the way he plans and thinks during the game...it's like giving DCs a answer key of sorts. also i think we can expect huge things from tradon *fingers crossed*

Finally found the time to listen this morning. What a fantastic interview, absolutely love the direction and decision by KF to bring TL in. I am confident KF saw the NIL issue coming and wanted to get to a pro offense, exactly as TL described. Once the restrictions on transfers dropped, the under-recruited kids get to move to B1G and SEC, you are forced to change (KF) or quit (Saban).

The only real confusion I have is that TL sure does talk a lot about scheme for scheme to not matter. Very weird, he must not really understand the game like a certain someone around here.

<5 minutes for that "someone" to be by to tell you to "read better" because nothing in his essay-long rants ever implied that

Yeah, I kind of agree that his “openness” may help out other teams? Or, are we overthinking this…it’s football, not brain surgery…so the Jimmy and Joes mean more than all the strategizing.

Read better attention *****. Go back to post #83. He was calling someone else names...
Read better. Exactly.

The guy 2Dumb called a name in post #83 had just placed him on ignore because of remarks he made about me, in a post where he responded to Grayhair.

2Dorky has been pretending to have me "deleted" for months. Thus, my pointing out his usage of "go Hawks", to mock me, immediately after I had posted "go Hawks".

Unless he is autistic, he deserves to be called out for it

Why would anyone care what YOU said regarding the Lester interview? We can all just listen to Lester and what he says.
I have no idea why the guy questioned my characterization of TL's recruiting pitch to Diaz. You'd have to asked him why he cared.

I was only pointing out things TL said that discredit some of the ridiculous narratives that have surrounded the program

I don't know. If you have multiple options and can BOTH run and pass, it doesn't matter much what they know. Kind of like everybody knows what Phils defense is going to do and yet it usually holds up by playing sound fundamentally, and all 11 guys doing the job on each play.

Around the 53 minute mark, Tim talks about the win against Minnesota and that Matt Lafleur called him after to congratulate him. Tim said he was busy recruiting a QB so he couldn't celebrate. Matt said that the best place to learn an NFL offense is here at Iowa and that he should mention that to the recruit. Tim says "why dont you tell him?". So Tim got Matt on FaceTime to tell the recruit, who happened to be Tradon Bessinger, that Iowa is the place to be to learn an NFL offense. Bessinger would go on to commit a week later.

We have NFL coaches going to bat for us saying our offense is the best way to prepare for the NFL. That's huge for us.

Running a pro style/Shanahan offense makes the IOWA QB's transition to the NFL a lot easier.

* The IOWA QB doesn't have to learn how to take a snap UNDER center.
* The IOWA QB knows how to call protections at the line.
* The IOWA QB has experience at changing the play call based on the defense.

In that respect, wins have not increased. Iowa was 10-4, and won a division title, in a '23 season that capped KF's winningest stretch at Iowa

But we had ZERO CHANCE in 2023 at beating the good teams, as seen below.

As a result, Brian Ferentz was fired on Oct 30, 2023.
Tim Lester was hired on Jan 31, 2024.

Here are the BAD LOSSES (when we couldn’t put up more than 20 points) over the final 3 years of the Brian Ferentz era and the 1st year of the Tim Lester "had to clean up a huge mess" era:

2021 Season (BF as OC):
.7-24 vs Purdue (Oct 16)
.7-27 at Wisconsin (Oct 30)
.3-42 vs Michigan (B1G Championship, Dec 4)
17-20 vs Kentucky (Citrus Bowl, Jan 1)

2022 Season (BF as OC):
......7-10 vs Clown U (Sep 10)
14-27 vs Michigan (Oct 1)
...... 6-9 at Illinois (Oct 8)
10-54 at Ohio St (Oct 22)
17-24 vs Nebraska (Nov 25)

2023 Season (BF as OC):
......0-31 at Penn St (Sep 23)
10-12 vs Minnesota (Oct 21)
......0-26 vs Michigan (B1G Championship, Dec 2)
......0-35 vs Tennessee (Citrus Bowl, Jan 1)

2024 Season (Lester’s 1st Year as OC):
19-20 vs Clown U (Sep 7)
......7-35 at Ohio State (Oct 5)
20-32 at Mich State (Oct 19)
17-20 at UCLA (Nov 23)

Lol. You're quoting what literally amount to throw away years, in '22/'23, as Iowa obviously fell on a few bad luck factors as a program. Those seasons were in no way typical of Iowa football, yet everyone quotes them in their characterizations of Iowa football. SMH.

A loss is a loss. Period.

I feel sorry for you if you if you can't respect the wins Iowa had in those seasons.

The "huge mess" TL had to clean up included an O-line that was in a good place, and was the reason KF told us before TL was even hired, that the offense would make a jump in '24. And Brian was a big part of the rebuild that put Iowa in that place, btw.

And you even managed to quote a loss in which the big ten determined Iowa played at an unfair competitive disadvantage. Well done.

And I would feel sorry for you, for even having an inclination to post any of this, which shows your wrong priorities, and lack of respect for a division title season. But along with the rest of your buddies in the ladies' room, you guys got way out of line. Nothing but hatred for the behavior you guys showed for Iowa football, and for the ******** you continue to perpetuate.

Do better

Very true, the offensive line was struggling the years the offense struggled and the o line reached maturity when Lester came in. You can’t overvalue offense goes as the o line goes.

"Deleted"...?
Yeah, you'd have to ask him. That's the word he uses.

Supposedly used some custom code to do it. And has no problem telling everyone about it over and over. Because evidently he doesn't delete people to put them out of his mind.

Also, still mentions me frequently in his posts.

It's been obvious for months that he doesn't actually have me deleted.

Never seen anything like it in my life

If you're talking about me, I've never said scheme doesn't matter.

But, as I've already mentioned in this thread, TL sure said, "players over plays", a lot. His scheme is literally to play the best players on 1st and 2nd down, and go from there 🤔

You're a fookin' moron.

Anyone with a brain cell knows that BF had no business being an offensive coordinator. IOWA's offense was a national joke during his time as OC.

Nevertheless, you continue to celebrate the 2023 season when we all knew AT THE TIME that we had no chance at beating a team with a pulse. In our 4 losses in 2023, we were outscored 104-10. And we SHOULD HAVE NEVER lost to Minnesota at home that season but our offense (with a lot of help from the defense) could only put up 10 points in that game.

In our 2 post covid B1G Championship game appearances with BF as our OC, we were outscored 68-3.

Not sure what your point is, because you're now introducing random topics.

Not sure why you've made this about Brian. But your characterizations are easily refuted. Don't kid yourself, Brian was plenty qualified for the position. That's how he got hired. He was OC for 7 years. National laughing stock for two of those seasons. And anyone who's laughing at a winning football program has the joke placed squarely on them. More proof of wrong priorities.

I already told you, a loss is a loss. You already posted all those scores. To say Iowa had no chance of winning those games just isn't true. And even if it were, what is your point? It must be about something completely other than what I originally posted about.

You also managed to double down on citing a game in which Iowa was cheated against. Well done again. Can you read?

And you've again doubled down on the "huge mess" mischaracterization. I'm not going to repeat my retort. It was plenty valid the first time.

Not sure why I've wasted my time with you. I delegitimized your entire post. And you've responded by doubling down, not with re-rebuttal, but by literally repeating the exact stuff that had just been refuted. Then threw in some crap about Brian. Fun stuff. Strong.

Go back to making excuses for Caitlin. All you guys are doing nothing but detracting from her greatness

So, Beth made the wrong decision and should have kept Brian Ferentz?

LMAO....
Clearly the conversation had nothing to do with Brian, as OC.

And the point made is able to stand on its own, regardless if BF should have been retained/fired.

We were only pointing out the inaccuracy of your "huge mess" characterization. And that point stands on its own, independent of who should be OC.

Try to be linear in these discussions
