Why are you so desperate to hate this team?
A few folks at PSU still root for a coach, not PSU....dead, fired....it doesn't matter as they cannot move on from their little fanboy crushes on coaches.

The new HC is yet to even coach a single game and these d-bags are all in to this woe is me basically for attention. They know it will be a failure. Now a few we saw like this when JF was hired and they didn't hide they were bigots and upset it wasn't a Joe guy, but not even giving MC a game is just for attention. They're idiots....long story short. I have no idea how he will work out....crazy to say that, but just hoping for the best.

You named one LB 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 … it takes more than one LB to have a good defense lol.
He's currently on the team and expected to be a very prominent part of this year's defense . Where did he come from? I'm not the one stupid enough to say a coach ignored 3 position groups a year and a half after his team was finished #5 in the nation. It looks like the current coach could be "ignoring" WR as well. How about you hold your breath until the new staff finishes better than #5 in the nation?
Run your mouth when PSU has reached "excellence at the highest level."

No one beats you for running your mouth. So many put you on ignore, you created multiple handles to get attention.

Talking Gibson decommitment, Taylor, Penn State “big boy” recruiting (especially PA) Armstrong, etc. A good listen.

The BWI podcast today was good as well. Confirms that something wonky happened with Gibson and he needed an escape valve out of his state now for the 2026 season that Rutgers provided that we could not provide because we are loaded at running back this year. It also confirms that we are in a strange spot as a 10-25 school for money. We lose many of the recruits that the top 10 $ schools truly want, and we have risk from the tier below us that want to grab somebody like a Gibson that will be program changing and drastically overpay to do it. Interesting times.

So the flip of the RB to Rutgers was in due to
1: He got in some sort of trouble at a 7 on 7 and was being suspended for a game or two at his HS
2: Because of #1, he wanted no part of his current HS, but couldn’t just transfer and be eligible
3. Rutgers pounced on this news and offered him high 6 figures to early enroll.
4. He always liked Rutgers and wanted out of his HS and PSU couldn’t use him in the 26 roster as Rutgers can and will!

It’s a loss for PSU either way
I don't know that many on here believe Gibson isn't a loss. CMC and staff have to find a comparable replacement. Too bad he chose to reclassify, which apparently knocked PSU out of his commitment.

I wouldn’t mind if we held steady at RB or picked a developmental rb, but I really want to see us reach and flip an elite WR. I still think that Campbell’s crew is doing well in recruiting in many respects, but I do have concerns that they are religiously adhering to their scale. They are holding some money for the portal, for sure. They are preparing for the five-year rule as we may have a number of players come back for another year. Read a few places that we are 20% for recruiting class. That may need to be bumped up to 25% for this year and next year to rebuild after Kraft’s lost 2026 class. The only caveat is if we have enough funds to get what we want out of the portal. I have some doubts there because the portal general is higher than high school recruiting.

PSU RB depth appears to be: Hansen, Peoples/Martin (battling for #2), and Wallace.

Yea. That is pretty thin. After Hansen it is a big question mark. Not sure martin is even a RB. I think I read he was tested at other positions in spring.

Psu is two injuries away from needing Gibson.

Or they can hit the portal and explore other options for more cash. Nothing is guaranteed here.
That is true. We have three very solid backs, and obviously there will be a loser in terms of carries among the three. I could see that person leaving. Or maybe Hansen is able to go to the NFL.

On the recruiting and what appears to be a ceiling on paying HS recruits, I think he formulated a plan with priorities and an importance on certain things.

1 stabilize the program with the portal bringing talent with him that he trusted and respects via the portal, Check,

2 lay a firm foundation for the culture he demands, Check.

3 Recruit a solid supporting cast for next year, Check.

4 Develop strong relationships with High Schools and their coaches, identify and build relationships with players you intend to offer for the class of 2028, Ongoing.

These are just my observations of what I think I see playing out.

There seems to be widespread condemnation of happy Valley united for this. Their days may be numbered as the NIL collective for PSU. Maybe this leads to something new. Apparently our collective has been poorly managed for a long time.

I don’t know how to feel about this because it basically confirms what I feared. PSU doesn’t have adequate NIL and they are going to have to rely on Campbell and Co finding diamonds in the rough and coaching them up. This isn’t a very optimistic message.

Apparently, PSU itself is pissed at HVU. Leave it to us to be late out of the gate setting up NIL and then having a collective that may be incompetent. Maybe this will lead to something newer and much better.

The HVU website boasts 2.1 million NIL distributed to 31 teams. That seems low. Hope adidas is supplying NIL. Hope there’s other NIL outside HVU.

Comparing PA recruiting to Fla TX or Cali is um is lacking in knowledge or just ignoring some glaring facts.
I don't understand. All I was saying about Florida is Golesh has done well and had the same time Campbell had. I actually don't know if Florida has a better class than ours or not. Are you saying it is harder to recruit in Florida?

There seems to be a variety of streams of revenue. There’s ncaa revenue share, there’s the HVU collective, Adidas, and there’s other individual deals outside the collective. This is the best I understand it, but it’s hard to get information on exactly how it works, even on the other forums out there. What is universally understood is that our collective is run very poorly and cycles through directors. Unfortunately, it also is absolutely true that our donor system is extraordinarily fragmented and completely silo’d. Supposedly the PSU Association won’t even share contact information to allow Kraft and the collective to reach more of our wealthy alums. There’s nobody in control of this. Kraft should be the glue and he is not. He may be the biggest problem we have.
