And if Iran were truly able to retaliate why wouldn't they attack our naval forces?, you know, the actual source of our attacks on them?,.. They don't, because they can't,.. Because at this point Iran is left with lobbing miscellaneous junk towards empty stationary targets located in their neighbor's back yards.
They are easier to locate, they are easier to hit as moving ships are a difficult target, and attacking shifts would be an escalation they are perhaps working into their equation.

Then, months later, Trump's excursion started. An excursion that was only going to take a few days to complete.

As I've posted trump screwed up the endgame in this war, He should have continued the bombing at the same time conducting negotiations. Plus if one thing is evident (and has been for 47 years), you'd better have some severe enforcement parameters, because Iranians seem to be experts in working around what they've agreed to.
