This is clearly a tragedy, and the online warriors have responded with conjecture and accusatory BS. Have any facts come out on what lead to his death?

Very good statement from someone very close to the situation.
They should not have hired Ben Crump this early. That threw gasoline on the fire. I think somebody must have gotten to them. I understand they are hurting but you really have to back up from the situation before making it political. They are already posting #JusticeforNolan as the police are literally saying there's no evidence of a crime. Unless they know something no one else does, but it doesn't appear that way.

That GFM is at 229K right now.

That is just sickening. All of it. Mainly the tragic loss of a promising young life, but also the blatantly obvious money grab by professional racebaiters.

I pray I'm never in the same situation, but if I am I will pray for clarity and discernment so as not to be emotionally railroaded into doing something so gross as to raise money off of the tragedy.

I believe Ben Crump just kind of shows up and takes over. Then leaves abruptly when things aren't as he may have been saying. Remember how fast he left after the Delta State death was ruled a suicide? Not even a goodbye.

They just lost their son. They arent thinking rationally. Fighting this fight is a way for their brain to not have to truly deal with the reality. It’s denial. It makes you do crazy things. The parents aren’t the bad guys here. The people taking advantage of their grief are.
True. I wonder how much of the GFM are true well-wishers and how much are people that want them to push the agenda. I mean you have to be pretty committed to donate your own money just in the hope they hire a lawyer to push out your political beliefs. I mean they had people all over their Facebook encouraging them to lawyer up and fight.

Scott Colom had had a very effective response to all the online speculation and accusations.
Has that Soros DA filed charges against that DL (forgot that pos name) that damn near killed the MSU student?

Did he even make a heart felt Facebook post about it? Nope

I suppose had the person that ran over my son was known/caught, I might feel different, but I was unstable that entire week. I was not thinking completely clear, I functioned well enough to call everyone I could. My wife was the balance. She was able to talk sensibly to the funeral home. I did not think "how do we pay for this". I didnt ask for money, nor was any accepted that I know of. People from church came and brought a basket of randomness, then stayed a moment too long and had me in hysterics as I was too raw to actually carry on a conversation about what happened and what we are doing.

These people just lost their son, but as social media is proving out, many people have been raised to doubt any situation involving white people in Mississippi. They have bought in, and are going to be very difficult to convince that their son wasnt intentionally lured out there and murdered in cold blood. Thats unfortunate if its anything other than that.

Talk radio in Memphis saying they heard a possibility that he garnered the attention of a young lady and told his crew, he'd stay awhile longer and ride back with the newly found lady friend's posse. Maybe some other male in the posse got a little jealous.

I can't pretend to act like I would act rationally if I was going through what they are going through right now. I can't begin to fathom how I would react or behave.

It’s the mother of the little boy that got shot by police in Senatobia a couple of weeks ago when they fled from Walmart and tried to drive their car at the police in the parking lot. The officer shot at the car and it hit the child.
Are they still running a blockade in the Walmart parking lot?

Damn man, I’d say I’m sorry, but no words of mine would matter. Your viewpoint is certainly relevant here, I can’t imagine.

Sorry for your loss.

Losing a child was the worst day of my life. Looking down at my son was the most awful, gut wrenching, pissed off, upset & many other emotions all at once I've ever felt. And then some. Unstable would be accurate.

So I'll give this family a bit of grace for their decision making or lack thereof & won't be too critical. I'll pray for them & hope they turn to our Heavenly Father for guidance & lean on those around them who mean well.

There have been a couple of protests in front of Walmart to the point the store has closed but there’s been a couple of times they’ve protested in downtown Senatobia and have damaged the storefronts of a couple businesses. I haven’t heard of anything lately.

I get some of it. They want answers but I’m afraid the answers they are going to find out aren’t going to be what they will like.

Just now figuring out that this is Elmore Wonsley's son, I believe. He played RB for State in the early 2000's.
There's a long line of Wonsley's that played football at Moss Point HS. George (Ivory) Wonsley played here in the early 80's and was drafted and played several years in the NFL.

Edit: AI says there were 3 Wonsley boys that played from Moss Point; George, Otis, and Nathan and all were RB's.
-George played for us drafted in '84 by Colts.
-Otis played for Alcorn and was drafted in '80 by the Giants.
-Nathan was undrafted but picked up by Tampa Bay and started playing in '86.

Elmore was a SR here in '82 and was a RB from Moss Point. With the 3 older boys playing in the late 70s early 80's there were probably offspring that played later like Elmore too.

Sadly it is not. They also had a horse drawn carriage at the funeral. That part I can excuse. No different than a hearse. The flaunting of cash is reprehensible. Particularly because it doesn’t appear to be more than a few hundred dollars. I have no words for it.
