Exactly the point I have been making the whole time here. He can't go a whole season anymore. If he could he would still be in Europe.I think Messi is good enough to play in a higher league than MLS but I imagine he has some sweetheart deal like Beckham got. He might not could play a full season though. He only plays like every other game for Miami. Dude is always hurt or something.
He could still easily turn in a season at the top level if he wanted. He’s still a Top 15 player in the world according to all the major outlets who rank such things. No, he wouldn’t be the best player at said top level, and might not even be on the 1st team if an All-Star team was assembled from the Big 5 leagues in Europe. But he’d be 2nd team / 3rd team for sure.Old dudes can score in a short tournament. If he was still capable of turning in a season at the top level he would still be playing in Europe. He knows that he isn't, which is why he is in MLS.
Nobody, not one time, has argued that he is what he was in his prime. But he’s still very good. And he has without question been the very best player in this entire World Cup up to this point….which is something that’s pretty much damn near impossible to accomplish if you aren’t one of the Top 10-15 players in the world. That's been my point all along and I have specifically stated it that way many times. Y'all keep commenting on something entirely different. Mo Salah played well today too. He dang sure slipped in the league last year though. He isn't what he was. Neither is Messi.
He would never hold up. He doesn’t play every game in MLS. He knows this even if you don’t, that’s why he is really here.He could still easily turn in a season at the top level if he wanted. He’s in MLS because he’s earned countless trophies / records / awards / titles at the top level already, and earned over a billion dollars there. He has nothing left to prove in Europe, so he’s living where he wants and playing where he wants. He’s a 9-10hr direct flight from his home country in Miami. He doesn’t get that opportunity in Europe, and he’s also swarmed and stalked whereever he goes over there.

Yes, if you’re talking about the hunt for the country with the best IPAs.Equatorial Guinea still in the hunt?
I have to give it to you man, you just won't give in on any topic. Once you pick a side, you will defend your initial kneejerk position without wavering, refusing to take input or make any concessions, instead just holding on to that mother17ing position like grim death, even if it seems obviously wrong to everyone else.Old dudes can score in a short tournament. You’re right. He doesn’t play every game (by choice), and yet he’s still making $28.3 million annually, $17 million more than the next closest player in MLS, has guaranteed annual salary that’s only around $3 million less than Haaland who’s currently the highest paid in the world, and, he gets to spend his season in Miami. He would never hold up. I would pull for the ole ancestoral land of Ireland. But they are too hung over to run up and down a field for an entire match evidently.Ill be pulling for whoever wins Norway/Ingerland
No, Liverpool isn't going to pay him that kind of money for that. They probably wouldn't pay him 15 for it either. Neither is any other big club. That's my whole point. He isn't capable of playing a season at a high level anymore. He knows that, the clubs in real leagues know that, that's why he is here. It's a retirement gig, same as you and me being a greeter at WalMart. You’re right. Low stress, high pay, very high quality of life….pretty typical lifestyle for just about any billionaire that’s nearing retirement. THAT’S why he’s here. Liverpool sure as hell isn’t going to pay him $30 million for 15-20 matches, are they?
If he’d play for $15 million USD in any of the Big 5 leagues, just about every team in all of them would be lining up to sign him to a deal.
Yeah farthest back i fan go is to the headstone of a Montague in like 1530s England.I would pull for the ole ancestoral land of Ireland. But they are too hung over to run up and down a field for an entire match evidently.
