I believe with the revenue sharing there will be multiple year contracts signed and that will limit movement for some yearly .
You make it sound like that's his choice. If he could be such a master of the transfer portal as you seem to think, you'd think he'd be doing it. I mean, hard to believe the next Curt Cignetti is just sitting at home on his couch. Or are you just calling him lazy?
It should be interesting to see how all of that plays out. Some of these players are breaking contracts and not wanting to pay back the money they already got. Texas Tech was stupid for letting Sorsby keep the money they already gave him. All he did was show up and cause trouble from day one.
I would imagine he is lazy.
I think for most people the goal is to work hard...so that some day you don't have to work anymore.
Remember. Cigs did not become a head coach at a "real level" until like his mid 60's...Bo did it in his 40s, I think?
Cignetti being successful and Pelini being a failure isn't really the point. Seems weird you'd point something like that out though, given how it works against your argument.

I was always for the players being able to move without consequence. If it was ok for the coaches then it should be for the players.
Am I a fan of the "game" now as much as I was in the past? Absolutely not but I still feel the same way. The fans are the ones who suffer but imo it was never fair to those kids when a coach promises them the world and is gone in 6 months. Now that the shoe is on the other foot people are in an uproar.
I'm generally always gonna be on the side of the kids. Problem is these kids get bad info OR just lose patience and bounce. But what can't happen now is a coach blows smoke up a kids *** and sells em a dream and their stuck for at least 2 years before they can go. Now if you have to say what u mean and mean what u say as a coach
It's a tough one for sure. I think the thing that many fail to mention. At least on our board is that it makes it that much worse when your getting your **** smashed in every year. My guess is that if we were winning 9-11 games a year and we're a playoff team or fringe playoff team yearly we wouldn't have nearly the problem that we have with it right now...jmo

I had a friend on the team...in 5 years he played about 6 downs, on XP's...when they were up by 40. By the end, he hated it. He knew he was never going to play, he was never going to get the chance to play and that he was just a practice dummy.
I agree. When kids make a bad decision and leave early and fall thru the cracks that's on the kid. So it's all fair. If you leave and flame out u can only blame yourself but imo you absolutely have the right to do so. When they start making coaches sit out a year after taking another job is when I will be ok with doing it for the kids again

So what would it have mattered if he had to sit out a year somewhere else? He could have gotten his degree and grad transferred as another option. Sounds like a bunch of entitled whining to me.
It is not if it "matters" to you...if it is there is the freedom to move without penalty.
