That’s what I was thinking. Pope should never be allowed to coach a UK team in Bridgestone or MSG.
What hurt me the most last year was the hospitality Bridgestone showed UK. The environment was probably better than Rupp and packed out with UK fans just for them to put on that EMBERRASING performance. Nashville really was Catsville until the game started.

One game does not define a coach but that Gonzaga game was the worst I’ve ever seen UK play. I’ve never seen a UK team come out so unprepared and give up so easily. That was where I jumped off the Pope train. Hope things are different this year.
Co-sign. Pope lost my unconditional support with that one. I'm pretty much out on him unless he shows me something this year. If he didn't have a decade of prior HC experience, I might feel differently. But so far, he's put up the same mediocre results here with all of our resources at his disposal as he did in his two prior stops. That doesn't embue a lot of confidence.

Last year players and Pope were awful against Gonzaga. If the game is played I would hope to see a better outcome. The fans that show up to support UK in Nashville deserve better.

In my 50+ years of following Kentucky basketball I have stuck with them through thick and thin. That game against Gonzaga was the first game I've ever given up on them and turned off the TV at halftime. Don't ever make me have to do that again Mark!

Who was there for Billie Clyde’s come-from-behind victory over WVU in Las Vegas? Made for a smug Thanksgiving. BBN owned that town.

Ok, how about the Alabama game in Bridgestone the season prior.

Does 2 games define a coach?

It was a mirror image. And 2 games in MSG. Did those define the coach?

Too many coincidences to be coincidental.

I don’t judge those two games or those two years even close to the same.

The Gonzaga game was an absolute embarrassment. Just pathetic really. The Bama game, although sucked was against a very good team without Butler or Robinson. The backup point guard was also out so UK rolled in with a freshman Travis Perry at point.

Sometimes injuries actually matter.

I agree there have been way too many losses and way too many blowouts for them to not be a huge red flag. Getting down by double digits in the first half happened a lot the first year too. I’m not sold on Pope, at all, but I hope he proves me wrong this year.
