How is this not, by definition, socialism?

“Socialism is an economic and political philosophy advocating for collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. It operates on the principle that resources should be managed to serve the community as a whole rather than to generate private profit.”

Gas was still cheaper than this when Biden was president. What ever happened to that $1.99 gas Trump kept talking about?

How does the gas station down the street feel about this when they have to charge 50 cents more to turn a profit?

Who is paying for this?

It is only socialism if a Republican didn't do it.

And Democrats DID.

RFK's make America Healthy Again is damn near a carbon copy of Michelle Obama's plan for school lunches... and every Republican in Washington was screaming Socialism and advocating for the right to drink Soda. Nothing now though. Trump got the US Government to aquire interest in US Steele. Now the US Government has a Golden Share, providing regulatory and corporate control. Trump has veto power over major strategic decisions, operational changes, and future sales. The framework allowed the administration to appoint board members and government designees to oversee domestic steel production.

TEXTBOOK socialism and crickets on here. This is just the logical next step.

Doesn't the US now own part of Dell, and a few other tech companies?
For being so vehemently opposed to communism, Trump loves state control of a lot of industries.

Fascism is characterized by extreme nationalism, authoritarian leadership, suppression of opposition, militarism, and the subordination of individual rights to the state.

Core Characteristics

Fascism is a complex political ideology, but scholars and historical analyses identify several recurring elements:
1. Extreme Nationalism and Palingenesis
Fascist movements often promote a myth of national rebirth, emphasizing the restoration of a perceived lost greatness and glorifying the nation above all else, sometimes tied to racial or cultural purity (Griffin, Payne)
2. Authoritarian Leadership
A central, charismatic leader is exalted as the sole figure capable of restoring national strength, often creating a cult of personality and demanding total loyalty 3. Militarism and Glorification of Violence
Fascist regimes prioritize military power, allocate disproportionate resources to the armed forces, and glorify soldiers and warfare as essential to national survival
4. Suppression of Opposition
Political dissent is crushed through censorship, intimidation, imprisonment, or violence. Media may be directly or indirectly controlled to propagate state ideology
5. Scapegoating and Identification of Enemies
Fascists unify the population by blaming internal or external groups—such as minorities, immigrants, or political opponents—for societal problems
6. Disdain for Human Rights
Individual freedoms are subordinated to the state’s goals, and human rights violations are justified in the name of security or national interest
7. Social and Gender Hierarchies
Fascist societies often enforce rigid gender roles, promote male dominance in government, oppose abortion, and legislate against LGBTQ+ rights
8. Propaganda and Symbolism
Extensive use of patriotic slogans, symbols, flags, and rituals reinforces loyalty and national identity
9. Integration of Religion and State
Religious institutions or rhetoric may be co-opted to legitimize the regime and manipulate public opinion
10. Anti-Liberalism and Anti-Communism
Fascism opposes liberal democracy, socialism, and communism, seeking to replace them with a centralized, nationalist dictatorship
11. Economic and Social Control
While not uniformly socialist, fascist regimes often regulate the economy to serve national interests and promote a “third way” between capitalism and socialism

12. Cultivation of a “New Man”
Fascist ideology aims to create a transformed citizen loyal to the state, often emphasizing youth, masculinity, and physical or moral regeneration

Absolutely, what I expected. Republican playbook 101 for when you have no answer attack the user. Here's a little search result for Does the US government control US Steele:

And since to every Republican anything Socialist is the same as Communist, what say you about Conrad Trump? Pro Tip. Check out what that Golden Share allows the government to do.
