West Charlotte Football Schedule

9/18 at Carrollton ( GA )

10/16 vs Butler

Not an easy schedule but I love the matchups.
2 intriguing games are WC at Summerville. Summerville went 12-3 last year and played Dutch Fork in 5A State Finals. And WC will play at Carroliton GA who went 14-1 last year. Thoughts about West Charlotte season.

I remember when they won the 3A title 2 years ago, everyone wrote that the team was full of sophomores then so they should have plenty of experience by now. But with a new coach and that schedule I could see them losing plenty of games possibly. I hope they fare well against the SC and Georgia teams.

Will be a very interesting year for WC. They have a great coach in Coach McFadden who has come over from Indy. The schedule is absolutely brutal. Don't over look them as they still have a bunch of young talent and had an undefeated JV team. If McFadden can get pass this year WC could become a state juggernaut with the type of talent they are getting. They are playing three top 25 national type teams and will likely get Hough in the playoffs at some point. Change Grimsley, Carrolton, Summerville, and Monroe with Harding, Providence, SM, and MP they possibly go undefeated regular season.

Not sure people understand how good Carrolton is. They beat Grayson by multiple tds who beat MC by an easy 50 spot. Their only lost was to national champ #1 Buford. Those 3 schools would whip anything in NC/SC/FL.

Lastly this year reminds me of 07 Flowers, and 08 Brand or Hardin/Knotts. Two excellent coaches that transition. Coach Greiner is an excellent coach and going from Greiner to McFadden is a blessing. Two excellent coaches. Schools dont typically get that blessing so WC cant mess this up. Expect WC Grimsley to be much more competitive than people think.

I agree with your scheduling point for sure with the exception of Monroe, whom WC absolutely destroyed last year. I think WC should win that game rather easily.

It will be closer than last year IMHO. Monroe has had some really good teams. In 24 they were actually leading WC before the lightning cancelation. Monroe thought WC was scared and ducked them. WC completely destroyed Monroe. That may have been the most physically dominating defensive performance I've seen.

Key is to be healthy for conference/playoffs. The sked is brutal then you add in a tough physical conference. People sleep on 8A but its a very physical brand of football. Staying healthy is key. Hough having that bye week made a huge difference over prior years in just being healthy.
