He’s maybe not as flashy as some of the other players. But he’s one of the few that has that toughness the old USA teams used to have. This team is soft and has been for years.
Not just defensively. We’ve scored 1 goal from play in almost 2 knockout games. Tillman free kicks have masked that a little.
Pretty obvious our boys aren't on a full plant based protein diet.
We’ve played much better in the second half. It’s been pretty even except for the horrible goalkeeping error.
Lamin Yamal against our back line would be an absolute horror show.
It was better, but after the goal Belgium has just been coasting.
Lost our dignity and pride in soccer, just like that. What a beatdown. Looking forward to another soccer thread in 30 years next USA World Cup when we finally have “arrived”

That was brutal. All of their goals seemed self inflicted. What the hell was our goalie doing on the first 3??? Holy cow.
The program is getting better, but we’re still not good enough to beat the top European countries. They completely schitt the bed tonight. So many defensive errors. We literally gave them three of their four goals with shocking defensive errors.
Bad D and inaccurate passes. Didn't play well, but really just not good enough.
Yep. We didn’t play worth a 17 on either side of the ball, and that goalie…. Never seen anything like that. Just a historic choke all around.
Not exactly gonna build USA fan momentum for soccer going forward. It set it back, if anything. One of the most pathetic performances I can recall.
USA Soccer should be basketball on grass. Our athletes are built for speed and aggression, not long possessions. That long ball played in (that our GK misplayed and gave up a goal) is the style we should play in this country. We aren’t built for methodical play.

I concur. We have a culture problem that will make us not competitive in this sport for the rest of our lives. You can loaf around 55 of 60 minutes as a fatty OL… American kids are lazy AF and out of shape, horrible diets. This is the worst sport in the world to be like that. Oh well, let’s gear up for some Lebby ball.
I guess it could be worse, we could have just summertime to deal with until our football starts.
We're competitive. We're in the top 20-25 in the world. It would be awesome if State would regularly be in the top 20 in the nation. We're just not top 10. Maybe not even top 15. We regularly make it out of group play. Italy has missed the last three World Cup. We've also gotten better as obesity rates have increased. It takes longer to get better at soccer than at any other major sport. Most kids in America play soccer for fun and we largely have a pay to play system. Should we get a bunch of young kids to drill fanatically like they do in Europe? Soccer is incredibly popular in Africa and, as I mentioned earlier, Europe colonized Africa. That helps.
