Again though, literally we were on a roll....Belgium rides us to the ground, no foul.
Such a strange game. To the defamiliarized eye (à la Anna karenina at the opera), it would seem that the basic rule set is (1) you can use your hands for anything - grabbing jersey, holding, pushing from behind, lifting by crotch - except touching the ball and (2) your defeat cant touch anything other than the ball.
Back line is having a rough night
Hasn't been great all tournament. Been getting away with it.
It shouldn't be a surprise. US Athletes have a lot of choice. Football, Basketball, Baseball..... Soccer competes for those athlete's attention. And loses. If that dynamic didn't exist, I'm guessing you'd see an entirely different product.

Everyone is handling the ball so nervously, and there's never any clean touches. Everything is bouncing off them and taking them extra time to control as a ball comes to them.

Ream has had a rough night. If you are going to play a 40 year old CB he better bring a ton of intangibles, we lacked all of those in the first 45. Then he got flat out jumped over.

Balogun probably won't do sh** tonight because that's how these garbage a** f***ing things work when there's something controversial like this that happens leading into the game, but let's not act like Pulisic was magically gonna become the player he was overhyped to be whether the Balogun suspension was upheld or not.
He got his crutch back tonight and he's still playing like a scared, nervous choke artist.
