I officially WANT State to win the national championship in football, for our supposed "fans" to quit giving olemiss fellatio, to win the powerball lottery, and to have a meaningless fling with Sydney Sweeney. This is going to be awesome.

If I can only get one, I guess just give me the money. I figure number 2 will never happen because people like you live and die by what olemiss does, and I can buy the last two at that point. How long do we think I have to wait to get my hopes and dreams fulfilled?

You mentioned Ole Miss: well, they are just as good at baseball while being decent at men’s and women’s basketball at the same time they are supporting Football at a high level. Now, either they have a lot more millionaire supporters than State or they have mortgaged their entire university to the hilt to be good at athletics. It has to be one or the other. They are not doing it with rank and file fans who give a $100 per year!

I think it is best if you and Sigma find another college football team to cheer for. You are fighting a losing battle here. If you don’t think Baseball means a lot to every ACC and SEC and most Big 12 programs, I don’t think we can help you here.

ole miss- getting better with better coaching and better recruiting and better players-WHY-MONEY

Mississippi State- weak Administration, poor department management, terrible HR-hiring of Program leadership, soft recruiting-WHY- LACK of SERIOUS FUND RAISING by Admin Team, not targeting the right donor group! Need to sell naming rights to every athletics facility on campus.

Dudy Noble died and Polk aint looking so good himself
Multi-million $ Tennis stars- sell the naming rights to one of them
Parking Garages- sell naming rights
Practice facilities-sell naming rights

Scoreboard club and press box -sell naming rights

I could go on and on! We need $1 billion influx into athletics! Sell the damn streets naming rights! Stop using concessions as a fund raising tool for select groups by letting them run them and sell each one to a specific restaurant brand!

Palmeiro center likely needs some upgrades. Get him and Clark and Woodruff and Stratton to throw in on it and co-name it!

Get the multi- millionaire football stars to fund the IPF with naming rights and make it the absolute best in the country!

I completely agree. Many folks in Texas don’t even know what MSU is. They’re like “oh you guys are Ole Miss?” I’ve gotten congratulatory text messages, from folks trying to be nice, when Ole Miss advanced in the football playoffs. I just politely responded in that I hope they lose.

Baseball doesn’t even move the needle in terms of exposure and promoting MSU. Any funds spent there may as well be flushed down the toilet in terms of gaining exposure. Outside of baseball players, “I am choosing MSU because of their baseball program…” said NO ONE EVER. Football and basketball yes and women’s sports surging BIGTIME. We must be smart. Do I expect us to be? I have serious doubts about that.

Not sure what part of TX you live in but the metros are very transient. I'd agree that people from out west or the north that have relocated to TX match your description but most sports fans originally from TX or the South know who Mississippi State is. Heck, Jackie coached at A&M, Leach coached at Tech, Houston has a large MSU alumni base, Texas baseball was great during Polk sweet spot era, we play in Frisco, Arlington, how long has TX and A&M been in the SEC playing us home and away on TV? They go to Ole Miss because they can't get into UT or A&M and the attitudes of the Ole Miss student body matches their values. So it's more a values issue than anything . Tech people are State people.

I recently played in a golf event at Oxford Country Club. Every member in our flight had a home in Oxford because they had a kid/kids that went to Ole Miss. Only one of them was an Ole Miss grad. Three had never been to Oxford before their kid decided to visit the school.

Yep, different values. You can't make a kid with ole miss values want to go to State....don't want them anyway.

It’s all really sad… so many of our fans are singing the tune “why are we Mississippi state? Why can’t we have anything good? Etc etc etc…” well look no further to how stupidly we deploy resources and how incompetent our administration is. This isn’t a situation of being in some obscure poor little state… does that stop Ole Miss? NOPE. We CHOOSE to invest in the dumbest things that do absolutely NOTHING to improve our school. But it feels great winning at checkers! Everyone is missing out I tell you!

Furthermore, the meaningless stuff we are pouring resources into we aren’t even doing that good in! Lemonis did win our only NC in baseball in 2021 which I’m thankful but we are middle of the road at best in SEC. Even if we won every national championship in baseball for next 10 years it would still be a giant waste of money that is doing nothing to improve MSU in the grand scheme of things. The numbers I posted in this thread clearly show that.
