Lot of people were doing it at airports before the pandemic. You need to get out more.
Man, it was pretty rare though. I would question how much of that is just a lapse in my memory, but I still see people wearing masks on the beach and other places outside, and I'm pretty sure I would have taken note of that before the pandemic. I'm assuming most of those people were already dealing with severe anxiety and hypochondria and they were already miserable outside, and the mask wearing is just a visible symptom of what they were already dealing with before. But I'm guessing we also just broke a lot of people. Really sad to see.

I still see some people wearing masks occasionally, although they are almost always elderly people, who are more at risk. An elderly couple who attend my parents' church still wear masks. I personally don't think it helps much, if at all, but if it gives them peace of mind, then who am I to complain?

Not me, I'm just letting you know. @L4Dawg is probably who you saw.
Haven't worn one in public other than at work since a trip to Canada in 2022. Had no choice on that one, same as work. One comment though, you never know about a person's situation. They might be immunocompromised in some way. They might be living with someone that is. They might just not want to smell stinky people on an airplane. I've had that happen once. I would have paid good money for a mask then!

Yeah I could 17ing care less as long as you aren't mandating that I do it. The biggest BS in all the pandemic was that the masks were to protect other people, not yourself.

Lots of people still wear masks. Many did before Covid and for good reason. It does slow the spread of germs.

Are these people just scared of their own shadow kind of people? Some may be, I mean guys like Howard Hughes do exist.

But often times they are caregivers to someone with a weakened immune system or they have compromised immune systems themselves and don’t want to live like a shut in as Howard Hughes did.

Why anyone gives a 17 or makes fun of them in any way is weird. It makes the one making fun of others look stupid. Why would you care if someone chooses to wear it or not?

Mask wearing also seems to be more prevalent along racial lines. Make of that what you will.

A couple of my coworkers wore them til very recently. And I work in tech with all engineers. So my thought is, they should be fired because they obviously can't process data very well if they are wearing cloth masks in 2026.

As far as airports go, I'd never do it and it looks stupid, but the airport is the only place I don't judge the maskers.

Ever since the Covid pandemic I started using that foaming alcohol hand sanitizer almost religiously, and I have yet to have a fever since 2019... which is my personal best by a lot.
