If there were a Mount Rushmore for rock and roll which four individuals would be on it?

My four would be these

Robert Pollard. Not only does he create the best music ever, but how many rock and rollers can say they threw a no hitter at Wright State.

Elliott Smith

Ira Kaplan

Bob Mould

Everyone knows who is on Mount Rushmore. That is kind of the point. A lot of people don’t know your list. I know Mould from Sugar, not Husker Du.

Honestly, I had to do research to find out who these people were, but yeah they absolutely amplified rock.
Without Leo, what would we use for guitars/amps in the early days?
Without Jim Marshall, what would Hendrix, Clapton, Jimmy Page, & Eddie Van Halen use for amps?
Some might even want to put Les Paul on there for his invention of the solid body electric guitar.

Yeah you are correct. I am a late bloomer to Guided By Voices (GBV) and Yo La Tengo (YLT) and did not start buying their music until 2003. I will say that most of my music collection from GBV and YLT is mainly from Tower Records in Shibuya (Tokyo). I also saw YLT live at the Shibuya O-East club (Tokyo) on their I Am Not Afraid Of You and Will Beat Your *** tour. While GBV and YLT may not have the same popularity as Pearl Jam or Foo Fighters the band from Dayton, Ohio and Hoboken, New Jersey is selling and performing their music worldwide.

I've been mostly listening to indie music since 2012 after some smart youths at church started recommending it. It's the only way to hear new music that reminds me of what I grew up with without hearing it a million times already.
